Chapter 69 - Chapter 68

"Oh."

Dr. Psycho, whom Dio had almost forgotten was here looked at this scene with the eyes of a disgusting pervert.

"I can hear your heart rate increasing. It's possible that the poison is still in your body. It's better to do another round of healing, just to be sure."

Dio said it with a smile.

At that very moment, Dr. Psycho's face turned pale, and he began to sweat again.

"No, please, I beg you, I'm completely healed, please!"

"Here!"

Dianaexclaims in happiness and gives her palm to Dio.

Dio ignored Dr. Psycho and looked at the item.

It was a standard silver military dog tag with Steve's name and other information engraved on it.

"Steve used this dog tag every year he was in the military until he gave it to me as a good luck charm. I've carried it with me ever since."

Diana explains.

An item that the person has carried for a long time has great mystical significance.

It's as if the item becomes a part of the user's body, and it becomes even more important if the user feels that the item is somehow special and brings them luck.

"Now we just need a world map."

Diana quickly went to a nearby convenience store and returned with a map, laying it out on the ground.

Dio went to it and held the dog tag above it, then said the words.

"Στο όνομα όλων των θεών, δείξε μου τι ψάχνω!"

(In the name of all the gods, show me what I seek!)

Dio's hand ignited in flames and burned the dog tag until it disappeared.

Then, a point on the map started to light up and quickly went out, leaving behind only a black dot.

"Diana, this location..."

"Yes, it's the A.R.G.U.S. headquarters."

Diana confirmed.

The world map is larger than a city map, and since Dio only has an item used by Steve, the result could have been anywhere in the middle of the United States, which wouldn't have been very helpful.

Luckily, the A.R.G.U.S. headquarters is at one end of the map.

"We have to go there, now!"

Dio said it urgently.

Diana agreed and stood by his side, then held his body ready to fly.

"Wait, what about him?"

Dio asked while looking at Dr. Psycho, who was still on the ground and tied up with the Lasso of Truth.

"We'll take him with us, of course."

Diana replied and then flew into the air.

When Diana said "take him," she actually meant "drag him."

One end of her Lasso was tied to her waist, and the other end was stretched with Dr. Psycho hanging from it.

It wasn't a comfortable experience for him, as he screamed and yelled like a madman while being pulled through the air.

Once they left the city, the signal returned, and Diana was able to contact the League.

The majority of members were busy with their own tasks, but luckily, the Martian Manhunter was free and on his way to the city to help wake everyone up.

The Titan Tower was also alerted, and they will join in with the Martian Manhunter.

A.R.G.U.S. isn't a secret organization, but it's not widely known, and due to the dangerous things it deals with in its missions, the security level of its headquarters is very strict.

Diana has free access that extends to him, and the reason she wants to avoid reinforcements is political.

The person who wants to be Steve's replacement as director is currently doing several things against him without his knowledge.

If an unauthorized person enters A.R.G.U.S. it will provide firearms for this individual.

They had already passed that point, but Dio knew that she would definitely request help if things got out of control.

Diana is too responsible and generous not to do that.

As they approached their destination, Diana suddenly increased her speed.

Dio couldn't blame her, as he could also see the black smoke on the horizon.

They finally arrived at the massive, ten-story military-looking building built on a cliff overlooking the sea.

On its rooftop, where the small hangar is located, there was chaos.

Diana landed, and Dio looked in all directions for survivors.

This place used to be full of A.R.G.U.S. jets and helicopters, all of which were now destroyed in flames.

"Great Hera!"

Diana exclaimed, a little saddened.

"There are no casualties up here, Diana."

Dio said to cheer her up.

In the hangar, there were usually many mechanics and soldiers who took care of these aircraft.

Dio couldn't see or sense any of them here, either alive or dead, which was a good sign.

"They must have retreated when the attack began."

Diana guessed.

"Please!"

A voice shouted behind them.

It was Dr. Psycho. Dio had forgotten about him again as soon as he saw the smoke, and Diana did the same because his landing was not very gentle.

Dr. Psycho's whole body was covered in dust, and his face was scratched and bleeding, but not too seriously.

"Please, untie me."

Dr. Psycho continued.

"Do you want me to heal your injuries?"

Dio asked mockingly.

Dr. Psycho's face immediately turned even paler, and he fell silent.

"Let's leave him tied up here. It will be too much trouble to take him with us."

Dio told Diana, and she agreed.

Diana dragged him across the ground, holding her lasso, and tied him to a lamppost with his back against it.

She then picked up a piece of metal from the ground and after removing her lasso from his body, she twisted the piece of metal around him to secure him to the lamppost.

"That should be enough."

Diana said, looking at her handiwork and then turning away without caring about Dr. Psycho.

"Let's go."

Diana said, then took her sword and shield from her back and waist.

Diana uses her weapons when necessary, and now she's literally saying she'll use them regardless of the situation inside.

Dio followed her to the entrance because he knew it was not the right time to talk.

The three-meter-tall metal doors were closed, which made it more likely that A.R.G.U.S. personnel were locked up inside the building when the attack started.

"BOOMMM!"

"BOOMMM!"

"BOOMMM!"

Diana needed three punches with her fist to dent and bring down the incredibly resilient metal doors, which revealed the interior of the facility.

She didn't move the door; instead, she stood there and looked at the entrance. Dio approached and looked over her shoulder to see a horrifying scene.

The bodies of several A.R.G.U.S. personnel were spread out on the ground.
