Le lendemain, le lion était pris au piège dans le filet d'un chasseur. Le lion rugit et la petite souris entendit son appel à l'aide.
Habilement, le rat mordit le filet du chasseur. Le lion fut enfin libéré du piège du chasseur et ils devinrent amis pour toujours.
