Doreen fixed her dress once more before she entered the elevator. She smiled to herself as she saw her reflection from the elevator door. She entered as it chimed open. As the door was about to close, she saw Clark from a distance staring at her across the hallway. She blew a quick kiss towards his direction and he did the same as well before the elevator door finally closed on them.
Doreen giggled to herself, feeling like a teenager with her behavior. It had been a while since she felt that light. Clark was always in her comfort zone. She regretted not knowing soon enough that Clark was never related to her.
Recalling the past gave her so much grief because she knew she had been too scared and too weak to fight for what she wanted. Her family had always controlled her life.
