Chapter 4 - Genius

Magic, the art used by mages to materialize Mana into a worldly concept. In the past, the first mages in the world were not called mages; they were known as shamans. They used Mana for mystical rituals or carved runes on their bodies. It was an ancient practice using Mana. But in this day and age, Mana can be used more efficiently by drawing a magic circle through imagination and precise calculation.

The magic circle created by a caster must be meticulously crafted. If it fails, the caster faces the repercussions of the magic itself. This is why being a mage can be quite cumbersome. Besides the cost of researching new magic and magical devices, this art has become one of the most sought-after and studied. The reason being, everyone possesses magic, whether they have a low capacity or minimal magical energy density. In essence, everyone has magic. Therefore, magic branches into numerous categories, such as:

- Battle Magic

- Support Magic

- Crafting Magic

- Daily Life Magic

- Alchemy Magic

- Martial Magic

- etc.

Battle magic focuses on attacks and defense.

Support magic concentrates on healing, buffs, tracking, and more.

Crafting magic specializes in constructing structures, creating magical devices, accessories that enhance stats, restoring buildings, and more.

Daily life magic is magic that the general populace uses for everyday purposes, just as the name suggests. It makes bathing convenient, helps with household chores, controls items to simplify daily life, and much more.

Alchemy magic is the most unique of all. In ancient times, alchemy and magic were separate disciplines. Alchemy required materials to create something, a process called equivalent exchange, whereas mages needed Mana to create natural phenomena. When combined, Alchemy Magic was born. Alchemists could create items more efficiently with magic, and equivalent exchange could be done with Mana instead of the required materials.

Finally, there's martial magic, an art of martial combat fused with Mana, the foundation of breath combined with Mana. However, it's worth noting that Ki doesn't exist on the western continent. Ki is exclusive to the eastern continent, and it differs significantly from Mana. Mana is gentle and easy to use and apply to the body but has lower strength. On the other hand, Ki is chaotic and wild but far more potent than Mana. If I were asked to choose which one is better, I'd choose Mana. Why? Because it's flexible, unlike Ki, which is rigid.

Now, what I'm learning is how to use Mana efficiently. Books I've read contain information like this: Use minimal resources with maximum impact. Manifesting magic using pure imagination is possible but less efficient. When you use a magic circle, you can precisely control the magical pathways, reducing magical energy consumption, lowering the risk of magical backlash in case of failure, and much more. But someone with a strong imagination can achieve the same results.

Mana is produced from nature, and humans use magical energy through an organ called the "Mana heart," not a regular heart that pumps blood, but a Mana heart used to absorb, circulate, and store Mana. It's located in the right side of the chest, adjacent to the heart that pumps blood. By creating a circle surrounding the Mana heart, you can speed up magical circulation, stabilize Mana operation, increase Mana capacity, and reduce the strain on used magic. For example, Mage A has Circle 1, while Mage B has no Circle. In your opinion, who is superior? Clearly, Mage A has the upper hand. First, the casting time for Mage A will be faster than that of Mage B. Second, the magic cast by Mage A will be more powerful, even if they're using the same magic. Third, in the case of casting failure, Mage B will be more severely affected compared to Mage A. However, in this case, mages using high-level magic will suffer greatly if their magic casting fails, even with a high Circle. The higher the magic rank, the higher the backlash it generates.

Now, what about Daily Life Magic? The magic has been advanced to the point where it barely puts a strain on the body. Thank you to the past Emperor for sponsoring the research on this magic.

"Status"

{Aeolus Avel Von Ferdant

Level: 72

Trait: System (Uncompleted)

Rank (Platenda): Sword Master

Race: Human

Age: 5

Physique: - Heavenly Martial Sword God Body}

{Skills:

Training (97), Wind and Thunder Swordsmanship (54), Aura (99), Meditation (99), Sword Heart (99), Reader (85), Magic (88) ... }

Skills, how to acquire them, and what the requirements are still absurd because there's no further explanation. The only certainty is that by continuously using skills, you can increase the skill level. But Aura (99) that I continuously use, even while asleep, hasn't increased at all after hitting level 99. My father says that this is because mastery of Aura has reached its highest peak. But as a regular human, I can't help but be intrigued by this strange system. Due to my rigorous training, my muscles have grown disproportionately, even at the age of 5, I'm already 5'3" tall.

People in the mansion, even my own family, are astonished by my development. When I first managed to use Aura throughout my entire body, there was a commotion throughout the Duchy's region. I even got the ridiculous title of 'Child of Heaven' thanks to the crazy Saintess with her 50-year-old prophecy. If only I could apply the methods from the comics I used to read. Wait! In those murim comics, there's a method called "body purification," where the main character does it to cleanse impurities from their body and be reborn anew.

Meridians are the pathways through which Qi flows. In the western continent, they're referred to as magic circuits. I'm going to use the body purification method from the murim world and implement it in my magic and its circuits. That's what I'll do.

Avel quickly assumed a meditative posture and delved into his own world. The magical energy in his Mana heart vibrated and flowed throughout his body. However, it wasn't for Mana circulation; it was to cleanse all toxins within his body. His Mana-filled heart also began moving in unison with Mana in a clockwise direction. The magic circuits in his body expanded because they couldn't contain two energies entering in significant quantities. Both energies rushed through, pushing out the toxins from Avel's body. When one clockwise cycle was complete, only a little fluid came out of his body. It was just sweat.

"...", at the very least, I tried.

Perhaps my physique is genuinely exceptional, with no impurities within me. I disposed of whatever toxins were there using telekinesis and jumped onto my bed, rethinking my approach. Perhaps I have to attain enlightenment to become stronger, or add more Circles to my body. But I'm still lacking in gathered Mana... Wait... A physique that purifies any impurities, and Mana that's poisonous before it's processed in the Mana heart...

"Haha... I am a genius."

Knock, knock, knock.

"Young master, I've brought your lunch," Cassandra, standing behind the door, brought Avel's lunch as instructed an hour ago. Realizing there was no response, Cassandra placed the food on the table. The meal wouldn't get cold thanks to Daily Life Magic's Warm feature. "I wonder what the young master has been up to today, hmm? The magical energy feels denser in here. Maybe the young master did something. I hope the Goddess protects you, young master," Cassandra clasped her hands together in prayer.
