"Yes, it is," Sonia said.
"Then why do you feel familiar?" Zach said in a cutesy voice as he pronounced the syllables with stress.
He sat and twiddled with his fingers. "The other fairy you introduced feels familiar too."
"What you're feeling now, that's what fairies feel like," Sonia said. "As I told you earlier, Kai's a fairy who's working for me so he will treat you well. I really need to go."
"But I do not like him as much as I like you, and I do not like it when you leave me, fairy."
Sonia's eyes drooped as she looked at his frown. "Why?"
"I do not know," Zach said as he pushed the mini-blanket covering him.
He fumbled for the edge of the sofa and stepped down carefully. He wanted to run to her, but he could not see.
"Fairy, come get me," he said instead.
Sonia looked at Kai, so he went to him. However, when Zach felt his sturdy hands, he shook them off.
"Not you."
"Fairy," he complained.
