Luke extended his hand towards Sonia slowly, but before he could touch her, she slapped his hands away so his eyes widened.
"I… I h…hate you?" Sonia said.
She does not seem sure, but hearing those words from her shattered his stoic face. Within seconds, raw and unfiltered pain occupied the canvas of his face.
Hearing those words from her was more painful compared to being stabbed by her sharp claws.
"Nia… did I hurt you in any way?" he said with much concern as he recalled if he wronged her in any of their interactions.
When she avoided his gaze and looked down at the wet floor, his eyes narrowed.
"You prevent me from resting eternally," she mumbled as she drew small circles on the floor. "I hate you…"
"I hate you…"
Luke's lips parted slightly. He never imagined that he would hear those words from her.
Never did he imagine that she had been considering death, either.
