Landing his eyes on the goblin mage, Kalle couldn't help but have his mouth agape.
The goblin's mage fireball was frightening, but it was because Kalle had seen what it was capable of.
However, right now, when Kalle saw the next spell the goblin mage was currently aiming at him, he was frightened for different reasons.
Not only did the amount of mana used in the spell was as much as the goblin warrior's unknown skill but the aura that the goblin mage gave off even before the spell was completed also gave off eerie vibes to it.
'What the hell is that…'
Different from the fireball that instantly manifested itself right after enough mana was completed, the current spell had already shown a part of itself before it was finished being cast.
Above the goblin mage, a dark circle, one that looked as dark as the night appeared and kept on getting thicker as more mana was gathered into it.
The dark circle soon began to reshape itself as it morphed its appearance to the pentagram in the goblin mage's staff.
Staring at the half-completed pentagram made out of mana that had turned black, Kalle's spine started shuddering as his hair stood on end.
If so far he felt danger from feeling a high density of mana, like the one he felt from the red portal before it appeared or when he met Gilgamesh and the golden staff, the current feeling felt different.
The amount of mana that he felt wasn't anything in the level of those two, but the aura and vibes that the dark mana gave off just felt eerier to him.
It was like he would get bad luck or even curses if he ever got close to such mana.
'I need to get away.'
The thought instantly crossed his mind when he kept staring at the pentagram that had almost finished forming on top of the goblin mage's head.
His instinct to get away from the dark mana was so strong that Kalle even moved the basic body enhancement in his hands back to his feet.
He then activated the leap skill, doubling up the mana in his feet before kicking away.
"Run!" He shouted to his contracted goblin before he flew past the goblin huts and almost halfway towards exiting the village.
Covering great distances with his combined skills.
However, even with his instincts warning him and Kalle followed it almost instantly, he was too late.
The goblin mage had already locked onto his targets right after he started preparing for his spell.
And even though Kalle had moved far from the goblin mage's location, he still wasn't far enough to escape the spell's radius.
The goblin mage finally completed casting its spell as the pentagram above its head had completely finished, making a perfect replica of the pentagram on the goblin's staff.
Right after forming the pentagram, it exploded and released a visible wave of dark mana all around him.
But the wave didn't just disperse and disappear after scattering out.
As if they already had a target in mind, the wave of mana gathered and moved in two different directions.
One towards the goblin with silver streaks on its body and the other towards a certain human that fled quite a distance away.
The goblin with the silver streaks saw the dark mana wave was coming but it couldn't do anything as the dark wave of mana hit it.
On the other hand, the human thought that he had moved far enough and was caught off guard when he felt an aggregation of mana move towards him at a faster rate than the fireball from the goblin mage.
Kalle tried to run away once again, but just as he activated the leap skill and jumped for the second time, he felt the dark mana pass through his body.
And he felt the effects right away.
He was able to jump prior to being hit by the dark mana wave, so he was able to use the full power of the leap skill and move a few meters away.
But when he landed, Kalle's body began to feel weak as he struggled to keep his body standing tall.
With his high mana sense, he felt the dark ominous mana that he felt earlier coursing through his body, moving everywhere and creating chaos all over the place.
Not only did Kalle feel his body sore as if he had been working for 8 hours with no breaks, but he also felt a change in his mana.
Kalle tried moving his mana to enhance his feet to once again run away, but the ominous mana disturbed his mana from following his command.
If Kalle told his mana to move to his feet, the ominous mana pushed it anywhere else but his feet and made him unable to do what he wanted with his own mana.
'What is happening… What is this invasive, annoying mana…?'
He thought to himself as he tried his best to force his own mana through the dark mana.
But just as Kalle failed for the sixth time, he abruptly turned his head towards the middle of the village.
'Goblin C died…'
There wasn't a notification in his head, but Kalle could feel his connection with the goblin suddenly disappeared and another feeling, one that was similar to one that appeared after Goblin A and Goblin B died came up.
This means that Goblin C was now on cooldown before it could come back to life again.
'I need to quickly get away from here first.'
Kalle then hurriedly asked the staff his prior unfinished question.
'Staff, how do I get out of here?'
Unfortunately, the staff didn't give the answer that he wanted.
'You can't.'
Kalle stopped speaking for a moment and stared at the silvery-blue staff in his hand.
'You will be able to get out if you use certain tools. But I couldn't detect you having any right now.' The staff continued speaking.
Kalle's hands trembled, and his eyes stared at the staff even wider than before.
"What do you mean I can't get out?! Why didn't you tell me before I went in!?"
'I have never received such a question from you before.'
Then Kalle realized. He really did not ask the staff about the dungeon at all before he took a step inside it.
The only thing on his mind before was to go into the dungeon and make it disappear to save his sister.
He never asked the staff about anything related to getting out of the dungeon if he ever felt in danger.
'Does this mean I will really die here…?'
