Jeff nodded a small smile on his face. "Yeah, those kids are gonna do just fine, and maybe we will face them in the future when they come up to WWE." As they left the hotel room, their minds lingered on the past and the future, knowing that wrestling had always been about evolution, about pushing boundaries. And with Dragon Boom leading the charge, the future looked bright indeed.
Several days passed by in a blur, the euphoria of the recent title victory still lingering but quickly overshadowed by the demands of being the FCW Tag Team Champions. Sandro's parents, Jack and Taylor, had returned to their home in Orlando, leaving him with a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility.
The apartment felt a bit emptier without their presence, but Sandro knew he had to stay focused on his training and the responsibilities that came with being one-half of the FCW Tag Team Champions.
It was a crisp morning when Sandro made his way to the FCW Headquarters. He felt a surge of pride carrying the championship belt over his shoulder, its weight a tangible reminder of the journey he had undertaken to get to this point. He and Kofi had been grinding harder than ever since they won the titles, spending long hours in the ring, perfecting their timing, and honing their chemistry.
They pushed each other to their limits, refining their teamwork and synergy. Every session was a chance to improve, to sharpen their skills not just as individuals but as a cohesive unit. They were aware that being champions wasn't just about holding the titles; it was about proving they deserved them every single time they stepped into the ring.
The FCW training center buzzed with activity. The sound of weights clanging, the slap of bodies hitting the mat, and the murmur of trainers giving instructions filled the air. Sandro could see the determination on the faces of every aspiring wrestler in the building, each one hungry for their shot, just as he had been not long ago.
He spotted Kofi in the ring, going through some agility drills with a few of the younger talent. Kofi had an infectious energy, a charisma that drew people in and inspired them to push themselves to their limits. Sandro admired that about his partner; it was one of the reasons they worked so well together.
"Hey, champ!" Kofi called out with a grin as he noticed Sandro approaching. "Ready for another day of work?"
Sandro nodded, climbing into the ring beside him. "Always. Let's make it count."
The two of them spent the next couple of hours working on their signature moves, timing, and improvisation. They knew that being champions meant more than just holding the titles; it meant setting the standard for what tag team wrestling in FCW should be.
Their teamwork had to be flawless, their communication in the ring seamless. They had to be prepared for anything the creative team threw at them and to elevate every match they were a part of.
As they ran through a sequence of moves, Windham's younger brother Taylor strolled into the training center. He was a regular presence, as he get in some training himself everyday. Spotting Sandro and Kofi, he walked over with a playful grin.
"Hey, look at these champs!" Taylor called out, pulling out his phone to snap a quick picture of the two of them with their titles. "Just had to get a shot of this. Gonna send it to Windham and tell him that I was ahead of him in touching Sandro's title belt!"
Sandro laughed, striking a pose with Kofi. "Dont tease him to much alright, lest he will teach you a lesson when you go back home!"
Kofi chuckled, shaking his head. "Man, we've got to stay focused. Dusty and Steve have something in store for us, and I've got a feeling it's going to be big."
"Speaking of training, look at the time!" Taylor said, glancing at his phone, "I got to catch up some training, I leave first! Good luck you guys!"
Sandro and Kofi laughed seeing Taylor antics, and just as they were about to start another drill, they noticed Dusty Rhodes and Steve Keirn walking toward them.
"Boys," Dusty called out, his voice booming even in the vast space of the training facility. "Y'all got a minute?"
Sandro and Kofi exchanged glances before nodding. "Of course, Dusty," Sandro said.
Dusty motioned for them to follow. "Come on, let's head to my office. Got somethin' we need to discuss."
Curiosity piqued, Sandro and Kofi followed them down the hall to Dusty's office. The walls were lined with memorabilia from his storied career, championship belts, photos from famous matches, and posters of events long past. It was a reminder of the legacy they were a part of and the heights they could reach if they worked hard enough.
Sandro and Kofi exchanged a look, the anticipation evident on their faces. Whatever Dusty Rhodes and Steve Keirn had planned for them, it was sure to be pivotal.
They climbed out of the ring and made their way through the labyrinthine halls of the FCW Headquarters to Dusty's office. Dusty sat behind the desk, a broad smile on his face as they entered, Steve Keirn standing beside him.
"Come on in, boys," Dusty said, gesturing for them to take a seat. His voice was warm and welcoming, but there was a seriousness in his eyes. "We've got a lot to talk about."
Sandro and Kofi sat down, their championship belts resting on their laps. Dusty pushed a single document across the desk toward them.
"This right here," Dusty began, tapping the paper with his finger, "is the beginning of something special for Dragon Boom. Steve and I have been working on this with the creative team, and we think it's the right direction to take you boys in. We want you to be fighting champions. Every match you have, the titles will be on the line."
Sandro's eyes widened slightly. He glanced at Kofi, who looked equally intrigued but also cautious. It was a bold move, putting their titles on the line every time they stepped into the ring. It would elevate the stakes of every match they had, but it also meant that one slip-up, one bad night, and they could lose everything they had worked for.
Dusty continued, his tone serious. "We believe in you two. You've got the talent, the chemistry, and the drive to be more than just another tag team. You've got the potential to be one of the best this company has ever seen. But to do that, you've got to prove yourselves, week in and week out."
Steve nodded in agreement. "This is going to be a test, a trial by fire. You'll face all comers, and you're going to have to dig deep. There's no room for complacency. If you can pull this off, you'll be legends before you even hit the main roster."
Sandro took a deep breath, his mind racing with the possibilities and the risks. It was a daunting proposition, but there was a thrill to it as well. The chance to cement their legacy, to show the world what they were made of.
Kofi was the first to speak. "We're up for it. We've worked too hard to get here, and we're not going to back down now."
Sandro nodded, his resolve firm. "We'll take on anyone you put in front of us. We'll show the fans what Dragon Boom is all about."
Dusty smiled, a proud glint in his eye. "That's what I like to hear. Now, the first step in this journey is going to be making an announcement. We want you two to cut a promo at the next show, laying out your intentions. Make it clear that you're not just defending these titles, but you're putting them on the line every time you step in that ring. Challenge anyone who thinks they can take them from the two of you."
Steve leaned forward, his expression serious. "And don't be afraid to be yourselves. Speak from the heart. The fans can tell when you're being genuine, and they're going to respect you for taking this on. But they're also going to expect a lot from you, and you need to deliver."
Sandro and Kofi exchanged a look, a silent agreement passing between them. They were ready for this. It was a daunting challenge, but it was also an opportunity to prove themselves on a level few others had ever attempted.
"We won't let you down," Sandro said, his voice steady.
Dusty nodded, leaning back in his chair. "I know you won't. Now go out there and show the world what you're made of."
They left Dusty's office with the document in hand, a mixture of excitement and nerves swirling within them. The plan was ambitious, but it was also exactly what they needed to stand out, to make a statement that Dragon Boom was a force to be reckoned with.
Over the next few days, they worked tirelessly on their promo, crafting their message, and ensuring they were on the same page. They wanted to convey confidence, but also the gravity of what they were undertaking. It wasn't just about bravado; it was about taking responsibility as champions and pushing themselves to their limits.
It was Monday and the day of FCW usual televised live show arrived, and the arena was buzzing with anticipation. Backstage, Sandro and Kofi could feel the energy of the crowd building. The FCW audience was passionate, and they knew that if they could win them over, they would have a loyal following that would support them no matter what.
As their music hit, they stepped through the curtain, the crowd erupting with cheers. Sandro felt the familiar rush of adrenaline, the noise of the audience washing over him like a wave. He and Kofi walked to the ring, their titles gleaming under the lights. They climbed into the ring, and the announcer handed them a microphone.
Kofi started, his voice clear and confident. "Last week, Sandro and I went through hell to win these titles. We faced one of the toughest teams in FCW, and we came out on top. But we're not here to just hold these belts. We're here to elevate them, to make sure that everyone who steps into this ring knows that these titles mean something."
Sandro took over, his voice filled with conviction. "That's why from this moment on, every time we step into this ring, these titles are on the line. It doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, or what you've done! If you think you've got what it takes to beat us, we're giving you all backstage the chance to prove it."
The crowd roared in approval, the energy in the building surging as the weight of their words sank in. This wasn't just another promo; this was a declaration, a challenge to every team, makeshift or truly a team, in FCW.
Kofi continued, his tone intense. "We're not just defending these titles; we're defending our legacy, our pride, and everything we've worked for. We know it's a risk, but that's what being a champion is all about—taking risks and proving yourself every single time."
Sandro raised his title high, the crowd chanting "Dragon Boom!" as he spoke. "So to every tag team in the back, every team watching currently, step up or step aside! Because we're not playing around, whoever brave enough come up and we will show the whole world, why Dragon Boom will still be the FCW Tag Team Champions!!!"
