Chapter 1 - chapter 1

The men wearing black hoods turned to face the individual sitting in front of them.

Mrenir, the formidable queen who surpassed the top 10 on their continent's power ranking list and occupied the top spot for just two years, is sitting casually in a chair and playing with something like a jade in her hands.

She has long legs, slender hands, curves in all the right places, milky white skin, and a face that is stunning enough to topple entire nations.

"Do you think you can assassinate me?" Mrenir asked the guys who were surrounding her as she narrowed her stunning phoenix eyes and tugged the corner of her cherry lips upwards.

She waved her hands as if it was a little thing to her and a breeze swept past them.

Within seconds, those closest to her have already turned into dead bodies.

When he saw her slaughtering his troops, he gave instructions while gritting his teeth.

"Shit, the drug isn't working on her."

They would not have risked being here if it hadn't been for someone poisoning her in secret.

He saw her body shaking a little as she appeared dizzy just as he was preparing to retreat with his troops.

Although it was brief, he managed to catch it.

He thinks to himself as his eyes narrow that she had done a good job of concealing it. He nearly believed it.

"She is lying to us. Her power is inactive. She must have lost all of her strength after the last attack. Attack her immediately."

Gritting her teeth, Mrenir bolts towards the woods behind her mansion.

"Well sh*t, I revealed it. What is going on? Why isn't my spirit power working?" Mrenir exclaimed.

"Capture her and stop her from escaping." The man said.

Almost a hundred people were pursuing her through the woods.

If she could use her power, she would be able to destroy them all, but Mrenir is unable to do so due to her spirit power being inactive.

When she returned home, she discovered it, but the assassins arrived just as she was about to do so.

She uses a deceptive technique to cut the guys with the rest of her strength in an attempt to bluff them.

Mrenir tries to summon spirit power, but no matter how hard she tries, she is unable to see spirit force, so she flees the area.

While running, she attempts to check her pulse; soon she realizes, "Someone gave me aconitum, a poison that can paralyze spirit force, but how did they do it? I didn't eat anything except..."

"Wait, I had some wine with Anne during the banquet today. But why would she harm me like this?"

The daggers pierced her skin as she is distracted with this thought.

Mrenir continues to sprint through the woods. She had several wounds on her body, yet she avoided injuring her important organs.

Even if her spirit power is not working, Mrenir can use her pure physical strength to keep running, her physical strength is cultivated using a special cultivation method and she cannot be harmed easily by people who are two levels lower than her.

Mrenir is unexpectedly struck by a white ball as she is escaping; she didn't foresee the arrival of anyone else except the assassins in black and was therefore caught off guard.

She glances at her shoulder after standing up to see ice crystals accumulating all over her arm, making it numb.

She glances at her shoulder after standing up to see ice crystals developing all over her arm, paralyzing and freezing her motion.

Mrenir scans the area as she observes a woman emerge from the trees.

She looked at the woman in front of her without showing any surprise in her eyes.

The person who came out was none other than Anne.

Behind Anne, seven more people came out and stared menacingly at Mrenir.

Mrenir grits her teeth as she observes the recognizable faces in front of her.

She did not imagine all of them being in this together, despite her suspicion that Anne was responsible for the ambush.

"Why?", Mrenir asks Anne.

Mrenir receives a smile from Anne, who says, "Why, oh! Are you asking why I poisoned you?"

Mrenir calms down and gives Anne a cold glance.

Anne faces Mrenir, who is firm despite the wounds on her body.

After giving Mrenir a quick glance, Anne breaks out in fits of laughter.

"You ask why, so I will explain. We are both orphans, but the old man only accepted you as an inner disciple as soon as he saw you and treated you as if you were his treasure, whereas he never treated me as his disciple and treated me instead like I was your maid, even though he took me in with you after you asked.

I could only use common cultivation techniques used by disciples of outer sects whereas you had advanced cultivation skills.

Tell me how I'm different from you.

Heh!

Even as we grew older, you continued to treat me with that superior attitude and to teach me intermediate development techniques as if I were a beggar and you were a great person.

Even the man I once loved confessed his love for you and began pursuing you right in front of my eyes.

Tell me how should I digest that?"

With resentment in her eyes, Anne spat out these words while enviously glancing at Mrenir.

Mrenir questioned whether Anne was the person she had known all along as she glanced at her.

Anne has always been treated like a sister by Mrenir.

Mrenir had no idea that Anne would harbor such intense animosity towards her.

"Anne, I have always treated you as my sister. Master took me in because I have double spiritual roots, and master never treated you as my maid.

Because you lack the capacity to manage advanced cultivation techniques, I offered you intermediate cultivation techniques. If you use those advanced cultivation techniques, your meridians will be destroyed. You only have one spiritual root, which is incapable of keeping up with more sophisticated growth techniques and can even be fatal when you use them to cultivate.

Compared to advanced cultivation techniques, the intermediate cultivation skills I taught you are significantly better. Do you really believe you can become powerful this quickly and be at the spirit saint level with your qualifications if I didn't create them for you in accordance with your constitution?"

Mrenir said this with an indifferent expression.

Anne stared at Mrenir, who despite the circumstances, seemed to be acting very composed.

Anne declares in a jealous tone.

"You're just bluffing. Because you didn't want me to be better than you, you didn't grant me advanced cultivating abilities.

You're only worried that if I learn advanced cultivation techniques, I'll surpass you."

Anne spoke angrily.

Mrenir said, looking down at Anne with a sigh, "You misunderstood everything."

Anne, who did not want to hear anything else, interrupted Mrenir.

"I don't want to hear your arguments anymore. I'll get you killed here, and I'll take your place."

Anne declared in a determined tone.

Seven people circled Mrenir, including Anne.

Mrenir took a quick look at them and discovered that the seven people she had once trained with are now looking at her like she is an enemy.

She realized that Anne had tricked all of them into thinking that she was their enemy by using her cunning ways.

But Mrenir had a strategy in mind as well.

She cultivated the spirit power fragments she left in them when she was training them.

She has been collecting the spirit power fragments she placed in their bodies throughout her cultivation, and she will activate them whenever they turn against her.

Mrenir, who has no intention of giving up without a fight, puts her strategy into action.
