Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - After HER Ordeal

It was a Saturday morning. After waking up, saying her prayers and taking her bath, Osanna went round the house looking for her mom to greet her when she saw Victor in a corner praying fiercely, she heard some of his utterances which included "God please let my Oga not sack me" she could not ask him where her mom was so as not to interrupt his praying session. She went to her brothers' room to ask where her mom was and they told her that her mom went to the church, there was a weird vibe; she could feel it.

Osanna was in the balcony, from afar she saw a car that looked like her father's car, she thought it was it. Before Osanna knew it her Father's car pulled up in front of the house, her Mom and Dad alighted. Though Osanna saw a frown on her Dad's face when he came out of the car, she didn't read much into it, instead she ran down to greet her Dad who she hadn't seen since he travelled for a month.

"Welcome Daddy!, I've missed you so much" Osanna shouted as she hugged her Dad. " I've missed you too my baby" replied Mr. Williams. "What did you get for me Daddy" Osanna asked as they entered the house, "stop disturbing your Dad Osanna, he just arrived" Mrs. Williams complained.

Everyone at home was acting weird including her Dad and Osanna noticed. She tried asking her mom what happened but her mom shooed her away, she went to ask her brothers what happened but they said nothing was wrong asking if she was feeling okay. That was when Osanna confirmed something was wrong as her brothers did not normally show or pay her much attention at all. She decided to just let it go and be happy as her Dad just came back.

Mr. Williams brought a lot of snacks back from his travel for the kids. Everyone got theirs except Victor. "Mummy why was Victor not given anything?" Osanna asked, "He is not going to get any, he's not a good boy" Mrs Williams replied hoping that would end Osanna's curiosity. " But mommy what did he do now" Osanna asked. "I said he will not get any, don't ask me anything anymore!" Mrs Williams replied. Osanna was not so suprised at what had happened as that was a way her mom punished her and her siblings any time they did something wrong so she didn't think much about it.

It was 8pm in the evening when Mr Williams called everyone to the sitting room for a family meeting though Osanna's sisters had not come back from school. He started by apologizing to his family for not being around as much as he used to be because of his promotion, he promised to try his best to be around more often and to interact with them more. He asked how school was and how they were all coping with school work and activities, they replied positively and Mr. Williams moved to the next important topic.

The main reason I called this meeting is to announce that Victor will be going back to his state in the next three weeks, he has done something that cannot be forgiven by man something even God may struggle to forgive. I will not be arresting him today because of his sick old mother in the village but then I can no longer allow him continue leaving under my roof with my family. "Victor I have taken care of you like mine but you have committed and have been committing atrocities in my home, some of which I know and some I don't know about but God sees the heart of man and I pray he repays you in your own coins" said Mr Williams addressing Victor.

Though Osanna was confused she did not want to question her Dad's authority as he was talking so she kept quiet. After the family meeting they said their night prayers and went to bed.

In her room, Osanna thought about all that happened and tried to figure out what Victor had done to provoke her Dad who was rarely provocated to that extent, nothing came to her mind. As she was thinking she drifted to sleep.
