And like that, with the Silver Wolf's restraint, Wu Shaochen systematically defeated each one, taking about ten minutes to kill the remaining three guardians. He once again gained 360,000 experience points, 17 gold coins, obtained 5 pieces of gold equipment, 8 pieces of silver equipment, and 11 pieces of bronze equipment. He also acquired 4 special scrolls, a skill book, 2 special potions, an attribute fruit, and 3 strange keys, nearly filling up 60 inventory slots.
Out of the 5 pieces of gold equipment, two can be used, while the remaining three are for warriors and shield bearers.
[Guardian Leather Armor]Gold Grade: +1200 HP, +800 MP, +120 Physical Defense, +120 Magic Defense, 10% Damage Reduction. Additional attributes: +35 Stamina, +35 Spirit, +35 Constitution. Additional skill: Guardian - Activates a shield with a maximum of 30% HP, lasting for 30 seconds or until the shield is broken. Cooldown: 5 minutes. Requirement: Assassin, Archer.
[Guardian Bracelet]Gold Grade: +340 Physical Attack, +110 Physical Defense, +20% Attack Speed. Additional attributes: +35 Strength, +35 Constitution, +35 Agility. Additional skill: Physical Immunity - Reduces physical damage for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 3 minutes. Requirement: Physical class.
Both equipment skills are very useful, and the Guardian Bracelet even adds defense, which is quite rare. Wu Shaochen quickly equipped them. The other three pieces, a belt and a necklace, are also usable. The Blood Bull Belt doesn't need to be replaced, and although this necklace has better attributes than the Linglong Necklace, its skill, Blink, is not as useful. Wu Shaochen couldn't be bothered to change it since he didn't lack those attributes. Although he had the idea of extracting the Blink skill, he wanted to see if there was something better available. The long cooldown of Blink made it somewhat inconvenient, and it would be costly if he couldn't upgrade it. When he got the Blink skill again, he would use an unsealing potion to learn it, which would make the upgrade better.
Looking at the remaining items, there was a skill book called "Cloud Breaking Spear," which could only be used with a long spear. Wu Shaochen couldn't use it, so he planned to sell it. However, these two skills, although they had high damage, had too many restrictions, so they probably wouldn't sell for much.
What Wu Shaochen was most excited about were the 4 scrolls and the two special potions. He had already used three of the scrolls before: the skill scroll, the fixed-point teleportation scroll, and the random teleportation scroll. The remaining one was a scroll called "Thunderous Strike," which dealt a fixed damage of 50,000. Although it was a devastating blow, it wasn't as effective against bosses as poison.
Wu Shaochen tried using the Skill Scroll on the Shadow for a seven consecutive kill, but received a message stating that the skill had reached its maximum quality and couldn't be further upgraded. He realized that skills with displayed colors couldn't be upgraded.
He had no choice but to continue using it on the Void.
"Ding! Successful use. Skill [Void] quality upgraded."
[Void]: Clears all negative effects on oneself, entering a state of nothingness for 2 seconds, becoming untargetable. Costs 200 MP. Cooldown: 3 minutes.
Wu Shaochen nodded in satisfaction and then looked at the remaining two potions:
[Defense Potion]: Increases defense by 50% for 10 minutes.
[Refinement Potion]: Refines equipment attributes, including equipment skills, generating new attributes and skills after refinement.
Not bad, especially the second Refinement Potion. It made Wu Shaochen even want to refine the newly obtained gold necklace. However, he ultimately gave up because even with refinement, it probably wouldn't be as satisfying as the current Blink skill. He didn't lack damage output; what he lacked now were survival skills. The more survival skills, the better.
The remaining attribute fruit increased Root Bone by 10 points, which Wu Shaochen consumed directly. More attribute fruits were always better. There were also 3 keys, the same as the ones dropped by the first guardian. He still didn't know what they were used for, so he checked the significant changes in his attributes.
HP reached 23,140, Physical Defense: 1,479, Magic Defense: 1,358, Attack: 2,786, Damage Reduction increased to 40%, Cooldown Reduction reached 10%, Experience: Level 26: 862,662/900,000.
His strength had improved significantly. However, the key now was how to get out. Wu Shaochen looked around the entire hall and saw only the giant coffin remaining. But deep down, he seemed to fear approaching the coffin and didn't want to get close to it. After some thought, Wu Shaochen decided to try using the random teleportation scroll he had just obtained. Although he had some psychological concerns, he had to give it a try at this point. After all, the previous teleportation scrolls had worked in places where regular teleportation scrolls couldn't. Maybe this one would be effective too.
Unfortunately, reality was cruel. The system prompted that the special map couldn't use the scroll. Now Wu Shaochen was completely out of options.
"Ah..." Wu Shaochen sighed. Regardless of how terrifying it might be, if he wanted to get out, he had to explore.
The wolf retracted into the pet space, and Wu Shaochen cautiously approached the coffin, feeling extremely nervous. After walking for a while, he finally reached the front of the coffin. He looked at the enormous coffin securely locked with eight chains and knew that there must be something extraordinary inside.
"Could it be a zombie inside?" Wu Shaochen muttered to himself. He pushed hard on the coffin lid, but it didn't budge. Then, Wu Shaochen circled around the coffin but didn't find anything particularly special. However, he noticed that each place where the chains were wrapped had a large lock. There were exactly four locks, so Wu Shaochen quickly took out the four keys from his backpack, confirming that they were the keys to open these locks.
Wu Shaochen hesitated a bit, feeling like something was telling him that these locks couldn't be opened.
"Damn it, why am I acting like there's a life-threatening situation? Worst case scenario, I'll lose a level. It's not like I'll really die. What am I scared of?" Wu Shaochen cursed under his breath, reassuring himself, and then directly used the keys to unlock the locks.
As each lock was undone, nothing seemed to happen. However, Wu Shaochen didn't dare to let his guard down. When the last lock was undone, still nothing seemed to occur.
Just as Wu Shaochen's tense heart began to relax, he suddenly heard a faint sound coming from inside the coffin. The sound grew louder, and the entire coffin started shaking.
Wu Shaochen quickly retreated, but as soon as he stepped back, there was a loud bang. The impact caused Wu Shaochen to fall to the ground. He quickly turned around and saw the massive coffin blasted into pieces. In the place where the coffin used to be, a towering figure with horns on its head, wearing a black robe and having a pair of wings, hovered. Although it appeared as a shadowy figure, it stood three meters tall. Its flesh had rotted, and there was a large hole in its chest, seemingly pierced by some kind of weapon. It looked extremely terrifying.
The figure stretched out its hands in front of its eyes and let out a cackling laughter, seemingly unaware of Wu Shaochen lying on the ground. Seizing this opportunity, Wu Shaochen quickly cast the Insight skill.
[Lord of the Dark Night]Resurrected Entity of the Shadow Clan
Level: ???
HP: ???
Attack: ???
Without a doubt, everything was marked with question marks. The boss's level wasn't displayed, and Wu Shaochen had no idea what this resurrected entity of the Shadow Clan was. All he knew was that he was in trouble.
Wu Shaochen forced a bitter smile and muttered, "Looks like I really will lose a level..."
