Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: King of the Wild Boars

Ah, leveling up is a good thing, but after leveling up, you'll face the awkward situation of not being able to brush talents. Wu Shaochen is starting to feel that he's leveling up too quickly. If other players who are still competing for rabbits find out about this, he'll probably get ganged up on.

Let's see if there's a way to fight level 7 monsters. If not, he can come back to kill pigs. With this thought in mind, Wu Shaochen continues walking deeper into the forest. The wild boar forest is quite large, and after turning around for a while, he finally exits the forest. Along the way, he encounters many wild boars that he easily shakes off. After all, he now has a movement speed of 18, which the boars with a speed of 11 can't catch up to.

Once out of the forest, there is a plain ahead, and he sees groups of gray wolves walking around on the grass.

"Oh my, so many!" Wu Shaochen feels discouraged. It seems like he won't be able to handle them. However, since he's already here, he decides to check their attributes. He finds a wolf closest to him and uses "Insight" on it. Fortunately, "Insight" has a long enough range, so he doesn't need to get within aggro range to use it.

[Wild Wolf]

Level: 9

Health: 4000

Attack: 115

Defense: 55

Speed: 20

(Note: The monsters in the newbie village don't have spell attacks or spell defense, so I won't specifically mention physical attack and physical defense. Speed refers to movement speed.)

Skill: Bite - Opens its mouth and bites the target, dealing 150% of physical attack damage and having a 50% chance of causing bleeding, which inflicts 5 points of damage per second for 10 seconds.

...

Damn, every time I check the attributes of a new monster, it's a challenge for my heart. After checking, the only thought that comes to mind is to curse the game designer. Although the game has nothing to do with the designer and everything is controlled by the main brain, I've heard that the main brain is all-powerful in the game, so I don't dare to curse it. Therefore, I curse the designer. Damn it, are these normal monster attributes? They are clearly boss-level attributes.

Oh, this is a level 9 monster? Then the level 7 and 8 monsters are probably in the middle path. I better go take a look there. I can't mess with this thing.

Wu Shaochen turns around and heads back, feeling cowardly. Once again back in the wild boar forest, he continues walking out. At this moment, a glimmer of gold catches his peripheral vision. Wu Shaochen curiously walks towards the spot where the golden light flashed. After walking for a while, he opens the bushes in front of him and is faced with an incredibly huge wild boar, at least twice the size of the boar he fought before. There is also a golden circle under the feet of the giant wild boar, which is the unique aura of a boss according to the prophecy.

"Wow, encountered a boss." Wu Shaochen's face is filled with excitement as he quickly uses "Insight" on it.

[King of the Wild Boars](Black Iron-level Boss)

Level: 6

Health: 50000

Attack: 250

Defense: 120

Speed: 30

Skill 1: Savage Charge - Charges forward at an extremely fast speed, dealing 150% physical damage to targets in the path and stunning them for one second. Cooldown: 10 seconds.

Skill 2: Frenzy - When the King of the Wild Boars stands upright, it increases its attack power and attack speed by 50% for 30 seconds. Cooldown: 2 minutes.

Skill 3: Recovery - Activates when the King of the Wild Boars' health drops below 10%. Defense doubles, and health is restored to 30% over 10 seconds. During this time, it cannot move or attack. Cooldown: 5 minutes.

...

...

"I just said that the attributes of that wild wolf were boss-level, but now I'm proven wrong. This is the real boss! Is a level 6 Black Iron boss supposed to have such terrifying attributes? The attributes alone are enough to make you explode, not to mention the skills are even more disgusting. The output is not enough to kill it. The cooldown of the last skill is 5 minutes, which means if you can't take down 30% of its health within 5 minutes, it's better to give up on this boss."

"Never mind, no more complaints. I should be used to it by now. Moreover, this boss might be unbeatable for others, but not necessarily for me. After all, my poison can prevent the target from recovering health. It seems like this boss is meant for me." Wu Shaochen thought to himself. He labels the wild boar king as his own. There's no way he would let a boss go. He hasn't forgotten that his talent allows him to accumulate toxin layers by killing bosses at or above his own level. Each additional layer of toxin is equivalent to doubling the damage.

But for now, he definitely can't defeat it. He needs to level up a few more times, at least to have a speed faster than the boss and be able to withstand its damage. Wu Shaochen takes note of the boss's location and exits, heading towards the outside. No one will come here in a short period of time. He wants to see if he can handle level 7 monsters because improving his talent is still the priority. That way, he can deal more damage.

Once again at the crossroads, Wu Shaochen heads towards the middle path that leads to the bamboo forest.

Entering the bamboo forest, he feels a damp and gloomy atmosphere with poor lighting. Wu Shaochen cautiously moves forward and suddenly sees green snakes crawling on the bamboo ahead, spitting venom towards him. He gets goosebumps. He uses "Insight" on them.

[Green Snake]

Level: 3

Health: 550

Attack: 32

Defense: 12

Speed: 7

Skill: Snake Poison - Targets hit by the green snake have a 50% chance of being poisoned, losing 2 health per second for 30 seconds.

So, level 3 monsters are here. No wonder I haven't encountered them. But this green snake is probably going to annoy a lot of people. They would rather fight crabs than deal with it because snake poison is just too disgusting. But suddenly, I remember my talent. Well, poison is a good thing. How can I call it disgusting?

Continue forward, walk out of the bamboo forest, and ahead is a jungle. The trees are small but densely packed, completely different from the forest just now. The lighting is still dim. After walking for a while, they finally spot a monster. They see giant spiders crawling on the trees and the ground. Wu Shaochen endures his disgust and uses a detection skill.

[Giant Spider]

Level: 7

HP: 2500

Attack: 90

Defense: 40

Speed: 13

Skills: Web Throw: Throws a giant web in a 2-meter range ahead, trapping the target. The trapped target cannot attack or move for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 20 seconds.

"Oh damn, can't fight this." Wu Shaochen frustratingly says. He shouldn't have come this way. It feels like all the monsters in this path are strong against him.

Forget it, he can't temporarily improve his talent. He'd better go back and kill some pigs, level up a few more times, and then take down the Wild Boar King.

And so, Wu Shaochen returns to the Wild Boar Forest, starting his pig-killing journey. With his current poison damage of 16 points per second, he can take down a pig in just two minutes. It's quite fast. A basic experience point for killing a wild boar is 20 points, and after reaching level 2, there's only an additional 40% experience, which is 8 points. Killing a wild boar brings 28 experience points. So, he just needs to kill 18 more wild boars to reach level 3.

Wu Shaochen is alone in the Wild Boar Forest, while there are countless players fighting for rabbits on the grassland in front of the newbie village. Honestly, with such a large grassland, there are easily thousands of rabbits spawning each time. But there are too many people, and the resources are scarce.

Among the crowd, a group of over ten people surrounds several rabbit spawn points, cooperating smoothly to weaken the rabbits and leave the last hit to a proud-looking young man. When he kills another rabbit, a golden light flashes beneath his feet, indicating he leveled up.

"Congratulations, Huang Shao, on leveling up." The people around him congratulate him one after another. "Huang Shao is definitely the first player in our newbie village to level up. I've been watching the area nearby, and no one else has had that level-up golden light."

"Yeah," Huang Shao nods with satisfaction. Then, he allocates all his attribute points to strength, raising his attack to an impressive 22 points. He smiles and says, "With 22 attack points, it's a piece of cake to kill these rabbits. Should we go to the level 2 area?"

"No, Huang Shao, some of our people have been to the level 2 area. The goats there are really fierce, and we can't handle them with our current strength. Unless all of our brothers reach level 1 and have a few tanky characters in front, it's impossible to fight them."

"Damn, this game is so difficult. And they don't even allow us to spend money. It's so frustrating," Huang Shao complains.

After thinking for a moment, he continues, "Do any of our people have any equipment drops? Let them all hand them over, so we can pool our equipment and try to enter the level 2 area as soon as possible. I'm sick of these rabbits."

"At the moment, none of our people have gotten any equipment drops. The drop rate in this game is really low. We have so many people, but we haven't seen a single piece of equipment. No one has listed any equipment on the auction house either," someone responds.

"Damn it," Huang Shao curses, "Keep an eye on the auction house. If someone lists equipment, buy it immediately."
