The fallen axe collided with the ground, leaving a faint white mark on the stone. Displeased by the strange sound behind her, the deep-in-thought Violet furrowed her brow and turned around.
She saw Bohr's axe abandoned on the ground, and Bohr himself, arms crossed over his chest, in a stubborn gesture refusing to act.
With just one glance, Violet surmised what he was thinking. Lifting the corners of her mouth, she asked, "What are you doing?"
Bohr glanced at his uncle beside him, coughed, and said, "Captain, even if we all risk our lives, we cannot defeat this monster!"
His words may not have been pleasing to hear, but upon hearing them, Violet merely furrowed her eyebrows, without reacting.
Of course, she knew that this group before her, while capable of bullying small creatures, was far from sufficient to face an ancient alchemical weapon.
