When the fragrance of the drink in his glass filled his nostrils, he promptly finished it all in a single gulp without hesitation.
After he performed that action, he audibly exhaled, his smile twisting into a grotesque grin.
Just like a wild beast that had just devoured its meal.
"There was nothing… that did not sit well with me."
Maintaining this terrifying smile, he adamantly shook his head, denying all of Violet's assumptions.
But at this point, Violet was very much resolute in her words.
"Just being the mayor of the town was already excessive as it is, an unnerving truth people tend to reject," she said.
"Because of this fact, much conflict has arisen."
"Wouldn't becoming a Glorious Noble only invite more trouble?"
So when Violet finished saying this, she shook her head with a smile, rejecting the handsome fellow standing before her.
She refused the hand he extended towards her.
Even a mere handshake felt highly unsatisfactory to her.
