"Grandfather, Ling'er doesn't want to leave you, if we go, let's go together..."
Ling'er was covered in bloodstains, but she didn't care to wipe them away, and didn't even seem to notice, only knowing to hold onto Beigong Jue tightly to fend off that increasing unease and despair.
"Ling'er, Grandfather can't accompany you anymore."
Beigong Jue stretched out his hand, caressing Ling'er's head just like he used to.
Caught between hatred and affection, Beigong Jue ultimately chose the former, for that was his lifelong wish. Ling'er was an accident, but this accident had brought him a rare joy, and it became his only lingering worry before death.
Beigong Jue's blood was nearly drained, and using the last of his life force, he roared: "Kid, I have never begged anyone in my life, but this time I'm begging you, save Ling'er!"
