In the dispensary, Tang Xing gradually awoke from his moment of enlightenment, only to be more puzzled than before.
With hands folded in front of him, he respectfully asked the sacred Buddha Son, "This disciple is confused."
"What confuses you?"
"If wealth, sex, fame, dear friends, and family members, as well as all the bitter and sweet experiences are all emptiness, then what is not?"
"Everything is empty, but not karma, one's inherent nature, or one's karmic energy."
"Why isn't karma empty?"
"All phenomena in the world are based on cause and effect. Their changes are not empty, their cycles are not empty, their continuities are not empty. All things under heaven and earth have their cause and effect, hence they are not empty."
"Why isn't inherent nature empty?"
