In the understanding of Zen, from ordinary cultivators to the Buddha Position, the perspective undergoes five changes, and cultivating the Heavenly Eye is to break through these five changes, also known as the Five Eyes of Buddhism.
These are the Mortal Eye, the Sky Eye of Peering into the Void, the Wise Eye of All Beings, the Dharma Eye of Heaven and Earth, and the Buddha Eye Realm which no one has ever reached.
Although Yankong's cultivation was only at the Mortal Realm, his proficiency in the Heavenly Eye had reached the peak of the Sky Eye of Peering into the Void, just one step shy of breaking through to the second realm of vision.
Such a realm of the Heavenly Eye, even when found in a resident Arahant, was rare, and for Yanshan, this was just one of his six spiritual powers that wasn't particularly outstanding.
After glancing at Tang Luo, Yanshan said to Brother Tian, "That Divine Symbol is imprinted in the layman's dantian."
