Dawn broke, all was eerily silent; after several days of killing, it seemed even the birds had been frightened off. There were no birdsong to be heard in the courtyard. Looking out the window, one could feel a chill approaching, and Ye Chen had awoken.
The mist was still thick; he had to find Lou Xuancheng. He had left in such a hurry last night that many things remained unsaid.
As soon as he opened the door to his room, the door of another room also opened.
