The lights suddenly turned on.
Jessica was terrified when the room transitioned from light to complete darkness, rose to a shocking level when it abruptly illuminated again. As her pulse began to stabilize, she saw Shen Yue looking at her and instinctively asked, "Why are you so close to me?"
She realized Shen Yue's breath had a detectable warmth to it and couldn't help but lean her face away from him.
Shen Yue coldly looked at Jessica, "Would you mind getting off me first?"
Only then did Jessica realize she was perched upon Shen Yue's body, her arms and legs wrapped around him like a front-facing backpack.
She clumsily released her grip and sheepishly said, "I was too nervous just now, as if a ghost had arrived."
Feeling a flush of heat on her body, Jessica coughed awkwardly: "I am not usually such a coward. Ah!"
