The 5th Light Cavalry Division was part of the 10th Army under the Second Group Army, positioned on the entire Group Army's left flank, specifically tasked with the defense from Sedan to the Ardennes sector. Against a backdrop of seemingly favorable conditions, Charlemagne's people had a strong belief that the Wehrmacht could not possibly launch any form of substantial counterattack, let alone choose Sedan as the point of their counteroffensive. Just three days before the Wehrmacht launched its attack on the 10th Day of Harvest Month, Admiral Anqire of the Group Army still did not take one's anxious advice seriously and replied impatiently, "I do not think that the Sharp-Eared Elves have the possibility of considering an offensive in the Sedan region."
Perhaps this admiral could not represent the entire Royal Army, but his statement was definitely the voice of the vast majority of the Charlemagne Army fools.
