"Clear!"
As he withdrew the hunting knife from the twitching throat of the enemy soldier, Sergeant Henry Aime hissed in a low voice. Several figures wearing the Wehrmacht's standard tri-color camouflage quickly emerged from the ventilation ducts. The moment they landed, the dark muzzles of their guns were already pointed to both sides of the corridor.
"...deeper than imagined."
The leading girl tugged on the spider silk attached to her fingertips and smacked her lips, glancing at the four corpses lying motionless on the ground.
The corpses were dressed in gendarme uniforms, and their gear was limited to the standard-issue pistols and submachine guns of the gendarmes, meaning they were merely formal sentries stationed here. Judging by how easily the infiltrators had dispatched them, these fellows had absolutely not anticipated an invasion here, and they probably had no clue what was happening on the surface either.
"Is this really the core of the enemy forces? They seem too lax,"
