Compared to their counterparts from other nations, Elf soldiers belong to a less brutal breed. Yet, they are colder, even cold-blooded. This is largely thanks to their tyrannical officer and the military education system he established. The professional soldiers processed through that rigorously designed assembly line often exhibit "inhuman" tendencies—not to imply that the Sharp-Eared Elves are a group of bloodthirsty maniacs like the soldiers of the Charlemagne Royal Army or the "locust troops" from another world. It's just that the overall impression of Wehrmacht officers, with rationality suppressed under sensibility and each like a mass-produced machine, is simply too deep.
For this very reason, the existence of someone like Pasiphael, who is occasionally more emotional than rational, "off specification," naturally becomes a glaring anomaly. In an army that emphasizes collectivism and teamwork, side glances and even criticism are inevitable.
