Power.
Countless individuals are driven mad by it, numerous brilliant minds exhaust their lives grappling for power. The game of power reveals no smoke of guns, yet when one looks down at their feet, rivers of blood are found. The gem on the victor's scepter shimmers with bloodthirsty light, yet the countless bones beneath the throne remain unseen.
The few who truly comprehend the definition of power, seeing it merely as a tool, are rare indeed; those who transcend desire and temptation and utilize power efficiently, rationally, are one in a million.
Even the renowned Caesar, under the lure of power, would cast the die and brazenly cross the Lubicon River, thereby unleashing chaos that could not be contained, until his eventual assassination. In the face of power's temptation, only transcendental sages or non-humans can truly and completely resist, even ignore it.
"Foolishness is a disease that knows no borders or races."
