This was not an empty boast of arrogance; elves indeed possess the vile interference particles that could render magic almost ineffective, but having foreknowledge of this, the Dragon Clan, with their excellent sensing and mana storage abilities, could take preemptive measures to counter the adversary. And Fafnir was a master at this.

The Dragon Clan and Elf Camp were not formal allies, but under the guise of "neutrality," they had numerous cooperative projects, including some which couldn't bear the light of day. From this perspective, the relationship between the two should be considered one of "strategically aligned interests."
