In Roland's memory, dinner alone with Li Lin didn't seem to happen very often.
Li Lin's work kept him busy on the one hand, and on the other, without Brynhild there, the family atmosphere would be greatly diluted, turning into something akin to a working dinner.
It wasn't that Li Lin had strict dining requirements, like no talking or not making a sound while sipping soup. It's just that... watching Li Lin eat while reviewing documents made Roland feel a great distance between them.
This had almost become the norm, and long ago, Roland had grown accustomed to it. So, when he saw Li Lin's table with only dinnerware and dishes without a single piece of paper, he actually felt a bit uncomfortable, as if he was witnessing something quite awkward.
"What's the matter? Not used to candlelight dinner? Or is the food not to your liking?"
Li Lin tied his napkin around his neck and asked casually.
