She did not have deadly stingers, nor did she spin webs to trap at will, and she lacked the monstrous strength that turned heads; however, by using her special ability to effectively lower human brain activity, she could create soldiers who acted solely on instinct.
These soldiers knew no fear and felt no pain, pushing their bodies to the limit and fighting until death. Moreover, the "Queen" could continually increase the number of "soldiers" according to her needs, eventually forming an army with high discipline and mobility.
Reducing brain activity while still maintaining organized actions may seem contradictory, but such a paradox exists in nature—army ants.
Within a colony of army ants, the vast majority, the worker ants, don't have what is called a brain. Even so, they manage to maintain orderly marching columns, and when they reach rivers or cliffs, the ants connect with one another to build a "bridge" with their bodies for their comrades to cross.
