The ultra-high-temperature particle beams crisscrossed, lightning flashing everywhere in moments when the deflection fields interfered with each other. The scattered high-heat particles drifted on the wind, clinging onto a fogfish that had swum over attracted by the smell of blood. Hair-sized and weightless, the particle clumps easily vaporized the fogfish's scales and flesh as they made their way to the other side.
The central area from where the particles dispersed had transformed into a scorching hell, the air reeking with the odor of burnt hair and fabric.
Beam combat weapons, originally accessories to the MDS, could only be used with multiple layers of safeguard measures in place. A mere single layer of deflection field could not fully protect flesh and blood, and resisting the wave of high temperatures was its limit.
