The 166 amphibious off-road vehicle was joyriding on the plains, and Pasiphael, who sat in the passenger seat, held on to the edge, fearful of being thrown out.
This vehicle, adapted from the 82 Jeep type "barrel car", was specifically developed to meet the special conditions of the Duchy. It could reach a maximum speed of 88 km/h on flat ground and, by lowering the three-blade propeller at the rear, it could advance at 9.6 km/h in the water. In the mucky spring season, this off-road vehicle could also travel with relative ease.
Despite its superior performance, it was ultimately a military product. Its design prioritized performance, durability, and price; comfort was often relegated to secondary importance. Add the bumpy dirt road to the mix, and Pasiphael was in danger of throwing up his breakfast.
