Blunhill put down the report, disbelief etched on his face.
This "naval battle" in the Northern Ice Sea, minor enough to put in one's pocket, was all too dramatic, full of chance and more like a chaotic street brawl. For the Wehrmacht, who emphasize prior investigation, accurate data, careful evaluation, meticulous planning, and thorough execution, this level of drama was quite out of place.
Blunhill removed his gold-rimmed glasses, massaged his nose bridge, waited for the sourness in his eyes to fade before he asked:
"I still don't quite understand."
"The York?"
Li Lin took a sip of red tea and answered.
It's easy to understand. If it hadn't been for the capsizing of the York, the situation wouldn't have escalated into a night battle, and the current situation wouldn't be on the brink of danger.
Why would a thousand-ton ship sink after being lightly hit by a small boat? Many, including Blunhill, were troubled by this question.
