To this day, this formidable structure, pervasive with Normandy-style architecture, serves as a prison. However, it was initially designed as a fortress. Through centuries of constant modifications, the tower now boasts of thirteen towers, stretches over ten kilometers with a city wall that stands 20 to 30 meters tall, and includes countless bastions and moats. Deeming these features insufficient for preventing escape or invasion, Wolsingham also equipped it with cannons and musketeers. If the national budget allows it, they might add more fortified armaments next year. Nowadays, the only creatures that manage to leave the walls of this prison are the ravens—prophesied by diviners to ensure the nation's peace so long as they reside within the tower—and corpses.
