The horse-drawn carriage convoy moved steadily on the worn-out dirt road. After considering road conditions, the stamina and strength of the horses, and the load weight of the carriage, the convoy's moving speed was set at around 20 kilometers per hour, leisurely heading towards Asjate Mountain.
Logically, such an important mission should be carried out quickly, with as few participants as possible. The ideal approach would be for Li Lin to fly to the sanctuary with the [Key], retrieve the Gram, and then fly back without sending a single escort convoy. Doing so would be superfluous and counterproductive.
In essence, the [Key] was too valuable. Even three moderate elders, who usually played both sides in the Council debate, took a more conservative stance when discussing using the [Key] to retrieve the [Sword of Glorious Kingship]. The final compromise was to dispatch a small elite force as an escort.
