A small merchant caravan moved across the plains.
After the introduction of railways, the form of goods transportation had undergone significant changes, and merchants large and small were willing to use trains, a fast and cheap means of transport. However, once they left the railway, traditional methods were the only way to deliver goods to different locations, and this was even more common in areas with poor infrastructure.
Like others, this caravan carried durable goods that valued practicality, and they were also equipped with weapons for bandits and monsters as well as additional iron plates—yet no matter how sturdy the carriage, it ultimately had its limits.
The merchants saw a strange reddish-black glow flickering at the horizon; as they watched the anomaly in awe and confusion, a massive fireball roared across the sky, crashing down in the distance.
