After the renovation project of the Royal Capital Ludes, in addition to new-style buildings such as the arcade streets, Cross Axis Avenue, art galleries, and opera houses, another distinctive feature was the introduction of public leisure facilities like forest parks, which catered to the commoners. In imitation of Alfheim's Tiergarten Park and integrating Ludes' own layout, Wansen Forest Park and Bugnie Forest Park appeared at the east and west ends of Ludes. These newly-built public green spaces, together with the renovated and opened Rosenborg Castle's garden and the connected garden of the Palais des Tuileries, alleviated the pressure of this densely populated and heavily built-up city.
Open parks on holidays served as a resting place for commoners and nobles alike, occasionally holding athletic events within the forest park. They could also act as shelters in the event of large-scale disasters.
