"Silence! Gentlemen! Shut your mouths!"
Primo de Rivera, the Minister of the Army of Castile, slammed the table so hard that the poor mahogany nearly fell apart. Only then did the generals below reluctantly quiet down.
From dawn, the place was dominated by an explosive tension and anger.
Bad news kept pouring in. First, all the Communication Gems fell silent suddenly, causing the Army Department and all the troops to lose contact. Then, a messenger beast from the Biscay Province forces arrived in the morning, bringing the terrible news that Gernika was burned down by unidentified attackers. Shortly afterwards, news came that Cadiz military port was attacked, the docked fleet of merchant ships and battleships were sunk, and the shipyard was destroyed.
The diligent Minister of the Army hastily issued an order to verify the situation, then left the boiling Army Department and took a carriage at maximum speed to Escorial Palace.
