No matter who committed the crime, the dignity of the Charlemagne Kingdom was completely torn apart and trampled on over a hundred times. All nations were laughing at Charlemagne, at the same time, calculating covertly to seize a piece of the pie from this series of events.
This was not good news, especially in the current context where the Aquitaine Region had become unstable.
The Aquitaine Region was the territory of the elector duke—Duke Lanulf. At the beginning of the formation of the Charlemagne Kingdom, this "homeland of the minstrels" was the largest domain among all prince domains, almost existing as an independent Duchy of Aquitaine. Fortunately, the Ducal family was rather composed, not harboring ambitions of crowning themselves as kings. Thus, until now, Aquitaine still exists within the territory of Charlemagne.
But now, problems started to arise on this fertile ground near the great western ocean.
