It was an impossible task. The battlefield of today was already that of an era of three-dimensional warfare. Without air supremacy, launching an attack was out of the question, and even keeping one's life under continuous airstrikes was a blessing from the Mother Goddess. With aerial force—high-speed mass attack MDSs, heavy firepower attack squadrons, long-duration main fleet vessels—any of these could utterly trample an enemy force crawling on the ground like pests. It was less of a battle of annihilation and more appropriate to call it a one-sided slaughter of a sweep operation.
How were the cavalry, severely lacking in massed firepower, supposed to survive under the enemy's aerial onslaught? It was an incredibly cruel task.
But nothing was absolute.
