"Your Excellency, please be cautious with your words!"
Lieutenant Colonel Edman lowered his voice and spoke quickly. He scanned both sides to ensure no one was eavesdropping or had activated any communication or recording devices before the slightly relieved Deputy Captain leaned in a bit closer.
"To call the enemy 'our army's hero' is simply too much! If someone from Stasi hears this..."
The military was not particularly fond of Stasi's spies, not because of their line of work, but mainly because of Stasi's dedication to surveillance, so extreme that "they would even bug their own bathrooms and graves." Few military personnel liked these hardworking spies, but given the real need for secrecy during war, and since Stasi had so far not interfered directly in military affairs, the military generally turned a blind eye to Stasi's activities.
