The most dangerous thing in the world isn't the backwardness of weapons or technology, but rigid and fixed ideas. Looking back on those past battles, Charlemagne and his adversaries lost not so much to advanced weaponry and tactics, as to their own inflexible thinking. It was the same this time. Holding desperately to the notion that "the enemy couldn't possibly climb," they approached carelessly, only to be swept up in the air currents generated by the climbing transport fleet, becoming easy targets as they were immobilized, highlighted by the raging flames.
"This is almost like performing magic."
Captain Farrenheit murmured, but before his feelings could resonate, Pasiphael began to give orders.
"Target, enemy ships on both port and starboard. Open fire at will!"
"Aye, sir!"
