Another problem was ammunition.
These five ships were all freighters, not professional warships or attack ships. To rush transport supplies, the amount of ammunition loaded had been minimized to the extreme. Taking the Ruida Ship as an example, it had only brought one base load of 128mm shells, which meant that on average, each gun was allocated only 20 rounds. Given the high firing rate of the 128mm machine guns, they would be depleted in an instant. The situation of the other ships wasn't much better, with on average only one and a half base loads of 88mm shells per ship.
The previous engagement had already consumed a portion of the shells, and continuing to shoot aimlessly would only lead the convoy to a dead end. A decisive victory was the only way out of the current predicament.
"Should we also make a turn to keep parallel with the enemy ships, and just lead them into the range of our army's control?"
