Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 - Blood Medicine (New Book Requests Everything)

"Why are these black marketeers so careless?"

Looking at the open door, Chief Hector was somewhat helpless.

  "Come on, let's go inside."

The duo entered the mansion, only to find it empty of anyone.

"Strange, when I came here a few days ago it was full of bodyguards, these black market traders wouldn't have run away, would they?"

Edward looked around and said, "There's still uneaten food on the table, so it shouldn't be too long ago that someone else was eating breakfast here."

"Weird, where is everyone? Anyone?!" Chief Hector shouted.

Soon there were footsteps from inside and a man stepped out.

That person was Ray-Ray, whom both of them recognized.

"Uh, I didn't expect to meet you two here, what a coincidence." Lei Lei greeted.

"What a coincidence, what a coincidence, Young Master Leonardo is also here for these... Uh... Merchants?" Hector asked.

  "Ah, sort of."

Lei Lei was cloudy on the surface, but he was actually panicking on the inside.

He was now very worried that the renegade livestock he had just taken care of wouldn't have anything to do with Your Excellency, right?

  "What brings you two here..."

"Ah, we're here to trade with these merchants..."

At this moment three big words floated up in Lei Lei's heart: finished!

His dependents investigated that there was a black market merchant here illegally smuggling blood pills, which was supposed to be a big no-no for the Zhu Yu Empire, so they came in person to root out the merchant.

I didn't realize it would mess up Your Excellency Kayne's business.

It was foolish to think that Your Excellency Kayne, with so many newborn Bloods, was bound to find a way to quench their thirst!

"Speaking of which, Master Leonardo, do you know where all the merchants here have gone?" Hite asked.

  "That, I don't know."

Ray-Ray couldn't say that it had been raised by himself, could he?

"What can we do, we have a business deal that we are more anxious to get to." Edward said.

Hearing Your Excellency Kayne say that, Lei Lei's back was sweating.

However, he had seen the world after all, and an idea popped up.

"What are you two looking to pick up? Speaking of which, our family has business dealings with various countries on the continent." Lei Lei paused and then emphasized, "Especially the Vermilion Night Empire, where you can buy a lot of unique things."

However, Chief Hite took a very cautious attitude as he smiled and said, "It's not a big deal, it's just some cheap weapon runestones or something like that."

After all, this young master had the background of a Lomunian noble, not a black market merchant who specialized in making a living through smuggling.

A classified mission like picking up blood medicines for vampires definitely couldn't be exposed casually.

"Is that so? Since you two are vampire hunters, wouldn't you be interested in vampire merchandise?" Lei Lei wasn't dead set on trying to directly hint at Your Excellency Kayne.

However Edward's thoughts were the same as Chief Hector's; after all, the matter of a large number of Constantine's nobles becoming vampires had to be kept strictly confidential.

He said, "Well, after all, we are vampire hunters, so I'm afraid it's a bit inappropriate to run off and trade with vampires."

As Ray-Ray heard him say that, he suddenly realized that Your Excellency might not be too kind to speak directly about purchasing the blood potion in front of the humans.

He also thinks Your Excellency Kayne is too insular to go directly to his former subordinate for potions.

I'm afraid, too, that I'm afraid of causing Her Majesty's misunderstanding.

Thinking of this, he said, "I see, then I won't force a deal with you two, but if you two want to pick up any rare commodities in the future, please be sure to go and contact me."

After saying that, Lei Lei made a bow and left.

"So what do we do? Wait and see? Maybe those black market traders will come back?" Chief Hector asked.

  "Well, it'll have to do."

The duo found a random table and sat down, waiting.

Originally, the two of them had actually lost all hope, but they didn't expect that after a while, someone really did break in.

The visitor was dressed as a foreigner, and immediately became alert upon seeing the two of them, pulling out a dagger and drinking, "Who are you two? Why did you break in here?"

  "Uh, we're here to trade."

"Trade? Don't even think about it, the merchants here got into trouble and fled."

"So, what are you here for?"

  "None of your business."

The man looked at them both warily for a moment, shook his head helplessly and said, "Well, I'm a supplier upstream from these merchants, what do you want to buy?"

"Are you willing to sell it to us?" Hector and Edward looked at each other, still thinking there was something suspicious about this man.

"Now I can't escape with these goods on me, so count yourselves lucky, what do you want?"

With that, the man pulled out a small pocket from his pocket and then removed various objects from it.

"Here, see for yourselves, Blood Spell Stones, Holy Oils, Morphing Potions, Enchanted Parchments .... I have everything here!"

Edward watched as the man laid one thing or another on the table, all of which he was honestly quite interested in.

But now is not the time to buy these things.

  "Ah, forget it, let's..."

Chief Hector saw nothing needed and was ready to rebuff him then leave with Edward.

That's when the man pulled another large bottle out of his other pocket.

".... And then there's this, the blood pill tablets ...."

He casually set the large bottle aside, only to see it filled with dark red pills.

Just as he was about to pull out something else, Chief Hector couldn't resist asking, "Are these drugs real?"

The man grunted and opened the bottle before pulling out a pill, "Watch this."

He ground a bit of powder off the tablet with his pocketknife and spread it on the table, then took a sheepskin water pouch from his person and poured a bit of water over the powder.

The little water stain immediately turned bright red.

The merchant said, "Do you smell it for blood?"

Chief Hector dipped his finger in a little bit and put it under his nose, and immediately smelled the odor of blood.

This is the real deal, the blood pill tablet.

"You want to buy it? This is the most troublesome batch, if you want it, I'll sell it to you cheap."

  Chief Hector asked, "How cheap?"

"There are two hundred pieces in here, now count yourselves lucky, two hundred gold coins, you take them all!"

Chief Steward Hector was kind of not believing his ears.

"Seriously? Can you make money that way?"

"Hmph, these pills cost two hundred gold coins when you buy them directly in the Vermilion Night Empire, normally they would sell for several thousand gold coins outside, it's just that it's not good to get rid of them right now, that's why I'm selling them to you at cost. Do you guys want them?"

"To! We..." Chief Hector balked, but Edward stopped him.

"Wait, can I see this bottle of medicine of yours again?"

That black market merchant frowned and said, "It's fine, but if you first take out a hundred gold coins and give it to me, I'll let you inspect it."

In fact, Edward didn't have to wonder about the authenticity of the bottle of medicine at all.

Because this was the blood medicine that Lei Lei had originally used for himself.

And this black market trader is, in fact, Ray-Ray's dependent.
