"Isn't that too much," Larisa asked worriedly, looking at the amount of knockout drops being added to the cup of tea.
"Of cause not," answered Selah as she added two more drops into the cup. These knock out drops were used by men to prey on innocent girls, they were designed for girls whose bodies were weaker, so if it's to be used on a man you have to use more of it to really knock him out, but Selah couldn't tell this to the pure and innocent princess.
Larisa twiddled her hands nervously, "It won't hurt him, right?"
Lifar draped a fur coat around Larisa's shoulders as she assured her, "It will just make him fall asleep and nothing else, he will sleep like a baby."
Larisa nodded as she exhaled, Selah got up and handed her the small tray with the cup of tea on it, she hesitantly took it and went outside the tent, walking slowly so she wouldn't spill it.
She came face to face with Brennon as soon as she turned to the side outside the tent.
"Does Princess need anything?"
"I …," Larisa hastily pushed the cup of tea in his hands, "This is for you," she said as she looked at anything else but the towering man in-front of her.
Brennon slowly took the cup as his brows furrowed, "Princess if you don't mind me asking, what is this for,"
Larisa's left hand held her right hand's wrist behind her back as she looked at Brennon with her signature small smile, "It's to welcome you, and apologize for trying to send you away."
Brennon scratched the back of his neck with his free hand as he reassured her, "There is nothing Princess needs to apologize to me about," He looked at his feet as he continued, "Thank you for the tea."
"Drink it then and tell me how it tastes, I prepared it myself,"
Brennon brought the cup closer to his lips, the steam from the cup assaulted his nose with a sweet scent he didn't know. He took a careful sip, hmmm, sweet. He downed the rest of the contents in the cup in one fell swoop.
Larisa studied his face as she asked slowly, "How was it?"
"It was very good," Brennon answered, he wanted to give her back the cup but his head started to swoon, he started to see things blurry as his centre of gravity started to deviate.
Larisa hurriedly reached out and caught Brennon as he started to fall. The tray and cup slipped from Brennon's now weak hand and fell silently on the grass gradually turning brown.
"Are you alright?" Larisa asked breathlessly as she supported his backbreaking weight.
Brennon slowly shook his head to sober himself up when he heard her voice but his eyes felt too heavy. He circled his arms around what he believed was one of his pillows as he pushed his head deeper into the soft pillow. His tired eyes fluttered open a bit at hearing the angel like voice talking to him, asking how he was, he wanted to see the angel's face. Ruby eyes worriedly stared at him, he face was so clearly reflected in them making his heart uncomfortable, beautiful, he thought as he succumbed to the the tiredness.
Larisa lightly patted Brennon's cheek, "Brennon? Brennon?" she just as lightly called him. Nothing, she observed his face, he didn't seem to be uncomfortable, she sighed, that's good.
She plied his hands off her waist and proceeded to pull him into the tent where Lifar and Selah helped to settle him on the bed.
Larisa let out an exhausted breath as she wiped her forehead of the sweat that had formed there. The three soon left the tent and quietly made their way around the tents.
The tents were arranged in a circle with the kings tent at the centre, then Larisa, Dario and Consort Ari's tents surrounded it, continuing like that by rank until you reach the edge of the camp site where the lowest ranking families where at.
This arrangement was done so that in-case of an attack, the assassins should go through the lower ranking families first before reaching the king, which gave the king time to escape, heartless, but that's just how it works. The king was essential to keep a country stable.
Larisa knew all the formations the guards used when guarding either the palace or the camp site, so she was able to evade the guards inside the camp easily, the only ones that will be hard to deal with are the ones patrolling around the camp and at the edge of the forest.
They came to the last row of tents overlooking the forest and where about to make a brake for the forest as fast as they could but stopped in their tracks as a groups of soldiers came patrolling in their direction, they hid behind one tent to wait for the soldiers to pass.
As soon as the soldiers were out of site they ran quickly into the forest and stopped when they had ran a safe distance away from the camp.
Larisa looked around at the towering giants around her in euphoria as a big grin broke out on her face, they made it out.
They started walking to get to the main road, this was a new experience for Larisa. Although she tripped more times than she can count, screamed in fright from seeing a snake for the first time. She liked it still.
They finally broke free from the forest and reached the main road.
"Where to now?" Larisa raised a brow at Selah.
Selah pointed in the direction of the capital's gates, "Its late into the night now, there is a small inn for travellers waiting to enter the capital close to the city gates, we can stay there for the night then set off at dawn tomorrow."
Larisa and Lifar just obediently followed Selah to the inn. Selah went to the counter and had to ring the bell a couple times to call for someone since there was no one behind the counter.
A loud bang came from the desk counter, followed by a sleepy looking middle aged man coming out from under the counter, the man cursed as he rubbed his sore forehead, it will definitely leave an ugly bump that will last a couple days.
He groggily looked at the three girls in-front of him, did he die and go to heaven, is that why he was seeing such beauties in-front of him? No, the pain was real so he wasn't dead.
His sour mood at having been woken up dissipated a little at the eye candy in-front of him.
"Three rooms," said Selah as she dropped a few copper coins on the counter.
The man absentmindedly took the money and gave her three keys. Larisa gave a small smile to the tired looking man as she passed by the counter following Selah upstairs. The man laughed and rubbed his eyes after they were gone, he was so tired he imagined one of those girls had red eyes.
Larisa's biological clock woke her up at dawn, her body was sore all over. The bed here was so hard. She did her morning stretches and went to Selah's room to wake her up.
The sun hadn't risen yet so there was nowhere they could get a hot meal, they just bought some buns from the inn left over from the night before to eat as a quick breakfast before they checked out of the inn.
They bought two horses for the journey since Lifar couldn't ride a horse so she would ride with Larisa and the other horse for Selah, by the time the sun had risen, they had already left the border of the capital city.
