Chapter 6 - Move Out (Part 2)

Arthur had said she would help Amalia find an apartment and move out. In the evening, Amalia asked him, and Arthur said he was too busy today and hadn't found one yet, but he would definitely help her look tomorrow.

Amalia wasn't surprised. She didn't really expect Arthur to help her find an apartment, and even if he did, it was likely to be somewhere not too far from the Rodriguez family. So that night, she looked for a few on her own.

"Uncle, I looked at a few apartments myself. The prices are reasonable, and I quite like them. Could you take a look?" Amalia pulled up holographic projections of the apartments, giving Arthur a more visual understanding.

Arthur didn't expect her to be so prepared, and he didn't like the feeling of being coerced into it. However, he maintained a composed demeanor and said, "These apartments seem small, and the locations aren't that great. Why don't I help you find a bigger one?"

"Living alone in a big house isn't interesting. These are fine. I want to be self-reliant, and I can't afford the rent for a large house anyway." Amalia shook her head, preemptively countering Arthur arguments.

Arthur could see her determination and found her just as stubborn as her sister. He wasn't particularly pleased, but he casually pointed to the apartment closest to the Rodriguez family. "Fine, this one."

"Since you want to be self-reliant, I'll accommodate your wish. But don't go back on your promise." Arthur warned.

"I'll do my best, Uncle." Amalia replied. Of course, she had no intention of reporting her whereabouts to Arthur every day.

Half an hour later, Amalia came downstairs carrying a bag, containing all the important belongings of the original owner.

"Is it necessary for you to leave so soon?" Arthur said displeasedly. Since yesterday, he had felt that something was slipping out of his control.

"School is about to start, and I want to settle down as soon as possible." Amalia said.

This reason was reasonable, and Arthur couldn't say anything more.

Once Amalia left, Grace hurriedly came down. She had originally wanted to scold Amalia loudly, but seeing Arthur expressionless face, she instantly transformed into a docile kitten with her head lowered. "Father, Amalia has left like this. What if she runs away?"

"She won't run away. Just take care of yourself." Arthur said and returned to his study.

"Mother." Grace coquettishly called to Madam Rodriguez.

Madam Rodriguez patted her head. "Listen to your father, don't ruin your brother good thing. Otherwise, your father will be angry again. Mother managed to protect you last night, but it might not be the case next time."

"I know." Grace reluctantly agreed, then turned around, revealing a resentful expression.

Alex noticed, but didn't say anything.
