Chereads / Apocalyptic World: I've Got The Second System / Chapter 35 - Desires and Dangers

Chapter 35 - Desires and Dangers

"Cool, isn't it?" Garcia asked, posing confidently in front of the defeated enemies.

"Yeah, really cool," I said, nodding as I approached her. "So, what's our next move?"

"Of course, we need to find that cube. Let's go," she said, taking the lead.

Tiamat's words about me acting like an NPC lingered in my mind. Did I really play it too safe? But all I wanted was a smooth operation without unnecessary risks.

Did NPCs act like that? Weren't they characterized by the same behaviors, never developing? Some of them might be characters that triggered quests but didn't engage much in conflicts.

{You're acting exactly like one. Always avoiding risks and opting for the safe route. When danger comes knocking, your first instinct is to run.}

Of course, I'd run! Who charges into danger willingly?

{A main character.}

I rolled my eyes at Tiamat's comment. Despite it all, I was determined to show that I had strength, resilience, and a mind of my own.

{I'll be waiting for that.}

Tiamat's laughter echoed in my mind, and I wore a sour expression. Garcia noticed, furrowing her brows.

"What's bothering you?" she asked.

"What? Oh, nothing. No issues here," I replied, steering away from potential conflict.

"Hm..." Garcia's brows furrowed slightly deeper. I hoped she wasn't too sensitive, given that women sometimes got annoyed without apparent reason.

I just get irritated with Tiamat and not you! Oh, how I wanted to say that in front of her face. But I couldn't she would think I was crazy.

"Anyway, how did you meet Gideon?" I shifted the conversation, wanting to stay on her good side, especially considering her formidable power.

"It's a short story," she said, finally smiling. "I noticed how attractive he was and struck up a conversation. Surprisingly, he got carried away pretty quickly."

I looked at Garcia with curiosity. "What kind of conversation was that?"

Her smile widened, and she began to share the amusing story.

Garcia eyed the man in front of her, drawn to his muscular physique and rugged charm. The post-apocalyptic world seemed to stir various reactions in people, and for Garcia, it only heightened her desires.

She wanted to be fucked so bad.

"Hey there. What's your name?" she asked with a playful smile, nibbling on her lower lip.

"Sorry, but I'm in a hurry," he replied, trying to step away from Garcia.

But she won't give up; she never gave up before and she always got what she wanted. She wanted that man.

So she pressed on. "How urgent is it?" she questioned, subtly pinning him against the wall and running her fingers across his strong chest.

Gideon felt troubled; it had been a while since he satisfied his desires. He was cautious not to make a mistake and end up causing a pregnancy in this post-apocalyptic world.

Holding her hands, he said firmly, "I'm on a tight schedule, Lady. You'll have to step aside."

"Sure your body is in as much of a hurry?" Garcia teased, brushing her foot against his crotch, earning a low growl from Gideon.

Taking control, Gideon pushed her against the wall, cautioning, "Lady, you might regret this."

Garcia, undeterred, joked, "Nope, won't regret it," as they shared a deep kiss and had sex all day long.

***

Hearing all of the detail that Garcia said I was speechless and confused. As a virgin high schooler, it was the most intense and detailed sex scene that a person ever told me.

Was that even possible to be that aggressive? Damn...

"So... You really just met him yesterday," I commented on her story.

"Totally," she nodded, smirking.

I wonder if she told me on purpose about that sex and the moaning sound in the cottage too. Was she have some kind of fetish!?

"Are you pregnant, then?" I asked again, recalling her mention of pregnancy from the day before.

"No, I stopped getting my period three months before the apocalypse, and I think all my female friends are in the same situation," Garcia replied with a serious face.

"Huh... So you baby-trap Gideon?" I looked at her in disbelief.

From Niel's memories, I knew Gideon as an honorable man—respectful, responsible, and loyal. He always helped his friends in trouble; he was the definition of the perfect good man. The idea of him being baby-trapped felt so wrong.

Garcia stopped walking, asserting, "No, he baby-trapped himself!"

This revelation left me even more confused about what had actually happened. How could Gideon have baby-trapped himself?

"So... Actually..."

But our conversation was cut short by the shot in my shoulder. Despite the armor suit, the pain seared through me as the bullet pierced its surface.

Wincing, I noticed Team Green not far away, already unleashing another round of shots. Garcia and I sought refuge behind a nearby wall.

"Do you see what they've got?" Garcia asked suddenly.

Still focused on my wound, I shook my head. The pain was distracting, and everything unfolded too rapidly.

"It's a Galactica cube," she informed me.

Ah, the cube. How ironic that it ended up coming to us instead. "With five of them, are you sure you want to fight?" I inquired.

I lacked details about their weapons, but facing five opponents didn't sound like a fair match.

"I took down three yellow members alone; five won't make much of a difference in numbers," Garcia replied, poised for battle.

"Wait—" I began, but she ran toward the enemy before I could finish with "What about our strategy?" Sighing, I had no choice but to join the fray now.

Peering from behind the wall, I observed Garcia skillfully dodging shots from the ranger class, utilizing her shield. She then confronted the lightsaber players.

Seizing the opportunity, I aimed at the gunman, taking him down, and turned my attention to the lightsaber-wielding opponent.

But without realizing it, an assassin darted towards me with incredible speed, it was like a shadow as I couldn't follow the move. She stabbed me in the stomach.

The dagger exploded inside, causing internal bleeding. Agony surged through me as I retaliated, shooting her in the head a couple of times until she fell.

Fucking hell! It was hurt as fuck, damn it!

[Danger!]

[Your HP will decrease continuously by -5 every half minute due to bleeding]

Clutching my bleeding stomach, I knelt, then materialized a healing potion from my spatial bag and drank it. This spatial bag was really helpful!

As my bleeding stopped, I looked at Gracia that battered by a lightsaber player, one already down just one left with the cube in his hand.

I wonder where was the last personnel? Weren't there five of them before?

Setting aside the thought, I tried to help Garcia. There were three skills that the game gave to the ranger class, shield, flying skill, and bomb.

I materialized a bomb and shouted, "Get down, Garcia!" Throwing the bomb toward the remaining player, she skillfully used her shield, escaping to a side alley as the explosion eliminated the player.

The explosion reverberated loudly, leaving my ears ringing, and the glass windows nearly shattered. Thankfully, they held, sparing me from the vacuum of space.

With the opponent gone, only the Galactica cube remained. The bomb's intensity triggered an emergency alert in the spaceship—blaring alarms and flashing red lights.

Shit, I hadn't anticipated the bomb being so powerful!

Two notifications from the system confirmed my kills:

[You receive 6000 killing points and 300 EXP for eliminating three players]

[Killing count: 5]

Well, weren't that too little killing points? I kill three players? What a disappointment.
