Jacob weighed his options. If Kylie went to the principal, the principal would tell the president and it would mean either death or a life of captivity for him. He wanted neither.
And if he went with Kylie, the aliens could still be lurking there and they would get killed. Either way, it was better to be murdered by aliens than the president. He had seen what she did to people.
"Why are you even wasting your time on a guy who chose an animal over his own safety? " Jacob asked.
From Jacob's context, it sounded stupid but she didn't have the context. She knew Levi was smart enough to make the right choice and she knew in her mind that he was still alive.
"I can see that you have made your choice, " she said and turned around to leave.
