Adam was furious when he learned what happened to his son in combat class. Nobody cut up his son and got away with it. No matter how stupid and useless his son was.
If he let that boy get away with it, he might send the message that anybody could mess with him and his family and get away with it.
"What happened to you, boy? " He asked.
Dickie retold the story to his father while hoping he was going to help him. He couldn't let Levi get away with beating him and he couldn't seek revenge either. Everybody had been ordered not to hurt Levi by Roman.
He wanted that luxury all to himself. Roman was a guy Dickie could not afford to go against. He was even more powerful than the principal.
"Is there a reason you can't be a man and get revenge for yourself? " Adam asked his son as he shook his head.
Dickie was reminded once again why he was the outcast of the family and not the golden child; his brother who was the senator of a city in Sunaru.
"Levi has pissed off this guy called Roman who—"
"I will call that boy into my office. You can go and do whatever disappointments do during their free time. "
Warren went back to his work and ignored Dickie completely. He took that as his signal to leave the office. Once Roman was done with Levi, he would be getting his revenge.
He was trying to get in his father's good graces but Levi was contributing more and more to that not happening. He was tired of him and he wanted him to go as much as Roman did if not more.
Of course, Dickie was directing his anger at the wrong person because Levi had nothing to do with the relationship he had with his father. However, he didn't see it that way.
Levi, on the other hand, had a lot on his mind. His whole life was crashing down and he had no idea about how he was going to deal with all the roadblocks in his way. It seemed as though things went south every time something good was happening in his life.
He went to his dorm after class to rest because he was tired and the day hadn't gone the way he had hoped. He had hoped to lure a girl to his bed and instead got more problems.
Just as he was about to lay on his bed, a notification appeared on his watch.
{Your presence is required in the principal's office now.}
He groaned and fought the urge to kick something. He cracked his knuckles to bed the urge before fixing his attire and leaving his room.
"Dickie you fucking idiot!" He cursed under his breath. Dickie had obviously reported him to his father because he knew he would be beaten in a fight again.
Now he was in trouble again. Everywhere he went he was met with problems but this time, he knew who to blame. If it wasn't for Thyone trying to embarrass him, he would have never fought Dickie or been called to the principal's office once more.
He knocked before letting himself in. He wasn't the only one in the principal's office. Thyone was there too sitting on one of the couches looking very comfortable.
"Welcome, Levi Jackson. How are you? " Adam greeted. He took great pleasure in making his victims comfortable before intimidating them.
"I'm fine and you? "
"Do you know that is the first time someone has asked me how I am? They usually just answer and wait for me to say what I have called them here for. "
Levi was silent and so was Thyone. They watched as Adam poured himself a glass of pink fluid and sat down in his chair. He lifted his glass to his lips and drank from it.
"You're treading on thin ice, Levi. You are a Level 0 magician and you have no skills in combat or anything for that matter. Tell me, why did you stab my son? "
"I-I—"
"I am the one who asked him to show me his dagger skills. Your son was the one who volunteered himself to be Levi's opponent. "
"Good story but you're not the one I asked—"
"I am the teacher and it happened in my class. I am the only one who can offer my unbiased opinion about what happened."
Adam didn't like Thyone but the president herself had asked for his presence here and he couldn't refuse. He was going to bully the boy either way. Although, he was wondering if Levi was worth it.
He had no magic unlike Dickie had previously claimed because of the apocalypse visions. To him, the boy was no threat and he didn't even deserve to be in the school.
He belonged with the manual labor workers like his father.
"You're failing your classes and all your teachers consider you unteachable. You do not even deserve to be in this academy. " Adam said and took an envelope. He handed it to Levi and sat back waiting to see the boy's reaction.
Levi didn't open it. There was no point wasting his time reading when Adam could just tell him what he wanted to say.
"What is this? "
"That is your warning. You have two weeks to figure out how you are going to learn magic or you will be shipped to manual labor. They could use that muscle you have gained in construction. "
Levi's eyes widened as he started to panic. He knew the survivors from Earth were slaves. There was no telling the kind of treatment he would endure there. He had never even done manual labor in his life before.
The problem was not the work. It was the pay. There was no pay for slaves. If he was going to break his back doing service for the Sunarians he would prefer to be paid for it. Sadly, that wasn't his decision to make.
He got up and left the office immediately. Warren was happy to be alone with Thyone because he had a few things he wanted to discuss with him.
"My son—" Adam started speaking but he was cut off.
"I am here to make sure we find out what is happening to all the beasts in the dungeon and how those three students died. I am also here to find out why some beasts and those students have the Circle of David on their foreheads. "
Thyone stopped and waited for Warren to speak he could cut him off again.
"But—"
"None of those duties entail protecting your son. "
