Chapter 17 - Changes

"It's not even real blood. I did this because I saw Roman and his minions lurking around. It was dark so I figured that no one would notice it was black. I had to look hurt so they wouldn't hurt me."

Eliot looked at Levi suspiciously. He wanted to believe what the man was telling him but it seemed like Levi was really hurt.

Levi turned to face the door so that he could address the system.

"Heal me, " he said quietly.

[So now you want my help. Why should I help you?]

Levi fought the urge to groan at it. Eliot was on the verge of believing that he wasn't really human. He hadn't even realized his blood was black until Eliot pointed it out so he had been caught off guard with no excuse.

"We have been busted. Come on, I'll do whatever you want just heal me. "

[+4 taken to regenerate your body]

[Processing…]

[Regeneration successful! You are now fully healed]

"You're acting weird, man. Just tell me what's going on and I'll help you."

Levi turned around and walked towards Eliot. His limp was gone and his cuts had disappeared.

Eliot didn't know what was worse. Seeing black blood or the fact that his friend had turned around and all of a sudden every wound in his body had healed.

"I've wiped away the cuts that I drew. See, I'm okay. "

He touched Eliot's shoulder who responded by flinching. It may have been a convincing argument but he was sure of what he saw.

Levi was bleeding black blood and he had cuts all over his body. There was no lying around that.

"Come on, Eliot. Don't tell me you believe that I'm not human or something. I was with Cora today and one of Roman's guys saw me. I had to pretend so I wouldn't get beat up. "

Eliot shook his head and pushed his friend further away from him.

"Are you fucking stupid? Stay away from her! She will get you killed. I've heard stories of students dying and teachers making no effort to look for them. This is not Earth. No one will protect you from murder. "

Levi sighed knowing Eliot was right. There was no way Roman would let it go if he found out that Levi was with Cora. He had already tried once. There was no telling if he would be successful this time.

"I will be careful. Thanks, man. Did you want something? "

"I wanted to ask if what you said about the pill was true."

Levi nodded his head and gave his friend a pitiful look. Eliot had changed in the week that they had stopped being friends. He had made friends with ass kissers and that was what he had become.

"Do you take the pill? I want to know how you will proceed because of this new info."

Levi almost laughed. Eliot couldn't think for himself anymore. He wanted to punch him and snap him out of it.

"I have never taken the pill and maybe that is why I can't perform magic. Make the decision that suits you. "

Eliot nodded his head and started leaving Levi's room. Levi grabbed his hand and stopped him from leaving.

"Don't tell anyone else about this. If you get me in trouble I will fuck you up, man. We're friends so don't do me like that. "

Eliot laughed because he didn't take Levi's threats seriously. According to him, Levi could't beat anyone up. He was just a Level 0 ability user with no skill in fighting.

Levi saw this and gripped Eliot's arm harder. He tried to rip his hand from Levi's grasp but he was too strong. He was shocked. The last time he was with Levi, he couldn't fight let alone have any strength.

That seemed to have changed.

"Let me go. "

Levi smiled and let Eliot's arm go but he made sure to give him a warning look. The last thing he needed was more trouble with the school. He was already on the watchlist of the principal and a third year was out for his blood.

"Don't tell anyone about this. I will do what I have said I will. "

Eliot didn't bother listening to Levi again. He left feeling like his ego had been bruised. He was supposed to be the stronger one out of the two and not Levi. He made sure to slam the room hard enough to show Levi that he was mad.

He had been planning to share the news with his roommate but now that Levi had warned him, he was a little scared. The look on Levi's face had been evil.

Levi was left in his room thinking about how he was going to earn more coins. Just then a system notification appeared in front of his left retina.

"How the fuck am I supposed to defeat beasts when I can't even resist the use of their powers on me and I have no full healing capability. "

[You should have gone when I first told you to]

Levi smiled and shook his head. He would not change his choice to go to town if he was given the chance. Hanging out with Cora was the highlight of the night.

He could still remember the curve of her breasts and hips. He liked her a lot and he was going to have her. Fuck Roman and his goons. He smiled wider and sat on the bed.

Without realizing, his tattoo started glowing red.

[Careful, host. You're a demon. Don't lose yourself in it or you will lose your humanity]

Levi thought the system was overreacting. Saying he was going to take another's man's woman was not evil. Killing was evil and it was what Roman had tried to do to him.

It was payback time.

[Side note: Consequences of refusing to do the task is that all your stats will half]

"What?!"
