Beatrice glances at the throng and realizes it is an advantage to have the crowd gathered.

"Mario, don't you think you've gone too far, accusing our mother of lying?" Beatrice asks, her voice icy. "I think it's you who has an agenda, and you're making our father out to be dead. How could you?"

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again, mother is not lying. We were kidnapped and held as hostage, but the Duke's son, Lord Williams, saved us." she continues, her voice rising in both pitch and volume.

"Beatrice is not the way they've made her out to be. When the family was prospering, you were nowhere to be found, it was because of Beatrice Where did Mario go?" The crowd says.

"That's enough, Beatrice!" Marianne saus lowly, her irritation plain to see. "But I know you definitely know that I am saying the fact."
