"What's your name?" Marianne asks gently. She knows she should know the answer, but she can't remember.
"I'm Sarah," the little girl replies, her voice trembling. She is clearly scared and has been through a lot.
"Do you have any parents?" Marianne asks, her heart aching for the poor child. She knows the little girl must be feeling so alone and frightened. She should have known about it, but she never cared in her past life. All she do is to trust Theresa's granddaughter.
Sarah shakes her head, tears welling up in her eyes.
"I'm an orphan," she says softly.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Marianne says, trying to comfort her. "You must have been through so much. How long have you been on your own?"
"I... I can't remember," Sarah says, her voice breaking. "I just know I've been living on the streets for as long as I can remember. I don't know where my family is, or if I even have a family."
