They continue walking, trudging through the darkening streets of Versailles. The chill of the evening air has seeped into their bones, and their stomachs growls with hunger.
Finally, they come upon a small tavern on the edge of the city, its windows glowing with warm light.
"Let's stop here," the crown prince says, his voice gruff with exhaustion.
"So, we should go in and eat." Marianne says with a smile.
The crown prince shakes his head and says.
"No. Let's just watch them eat, maybe out hunger too would vanish."
"What? Why? Instead of us to enter and get our own too?" She widens her eyes.
"I lost my money pouch in the river. That's why I asked if you have money earlier." The crown prince says.
"But I said no. I don't have anything on me, I told you that. And you said I should not worry myself, that you will take care of me." She repeats his earlier words, getting frustrated
