"How can we be sure you're not lying?" The other nobles also demands. "You have no evidence!" They repeat what Viscount Danbury has said.
"We have all the evidence we need," Dan says, his voice firm. "We have financial records, statements from witnesses, and other documentation that corroborates our claims. You are free to refute any of this if you can."
But the Viscount is not satisfied. "So what? You're just going to take my word for it? Without any concrete proof?"
"If you are not willing to accept the evidence we have provided, then there is nothing more we can do to convince you," Lucas says, a hint of frustration in his voice. "But regardless of your opinion, we are moving forward with our decision to end our partnership. We have other opportunities that are more aligned with our values and goals."
The Viscount's face darkens.
"I see. So this is all about money, then?" he accuses. "You are more concerned with profits than with people."
